Skyline Lodge staff were amazing and genuinely kind this weekend! I completely messed up our reservation, but they were able to fix it and we still got to stay 2 nights! The views on the right side of the lodge are amazing! Heated floors in the bathroom was on point! The rooms were a little chilly, so bring layers! Oak Steakhouse adjoining Skyline is absolutely delicious. We ate there both nights, the staff were amazing and so kind. So nice to eat dinner & be able to walk back to your room! We will definitely be back!

Nice location, great restaurant and overall renovation but, I couldn’t get past the musty smell in the room. We had to keep the door and windows on the balcony open at all times, which was fine because the weather was so nice. But, if you closed all the doors, the smell was not pleasant.

Great stay. The receptionist, cant remember her name, from Michigan was WONDERFUL. Only complaint was that our lower level room was noisy from the guests walking in the room above. Very poor floor accoustics but we moved the next day to a room on the first level. All good. Great food and view. Would stay here again just with a first floor room.

For the price the room was very disappointing. Small, esp. the bathroom. No room to put a makeup case or much of anything more than a toothbrush. Also no cleaning service after our first of two nights. The view from our room was also blocked by buildings and trees so that even tho we were on top of a mountain we couldn't see much at all, after we paid an extra $100 for a room with a balcony and a view. Tiny balcony was comprised of two uncomfortable chairs and an AC compressor that directed a strong fan on us. Not likely we'll go back. (I did like the shower.)

This is a bare bones place. Overpriced. No help with bags, no room service. When we asked for our room to be cleaned they said we had to request that in advance. The chairs on balcony are plastic and uncomfortable. The only good thing is the restaurant but you don’t have to stay there to enjoy it. We booked a room that included dinner but was told there were no reservations available. They finally worked us in at 5:00pm. Will not be returning to the hotel but will definitely eat at the restaurant again.

The Good - Beautiful views and private deck. Delicious dark chocolate welcomed us to the room. Fire pit with cozy seating in the courtyard. Meeting the chef and buying their book with autograph. Quiet! The Ok/Bad - The Under the Stars event was in a lovely setting and it was such a joy meeting the featured chef. Beyond that, it was disappointing. The food was admittedly not created or prepared by the guest chef. The main course was mediocre with a mushy texture, bland and uninteresting at best. Courses were served family style making for unappealing presentation and sloppy serving of the dishes, not fun. An event of this caliber deserves the opportunity to impress and wow us! Staff was obviously stressed, 2 being rude - disregarding my simple, specific food allergy inquiry with one actually telling me they didn't have time to check! Food allergies are a big deal and the staff should know if key allergins are in dishes, or at the very least be willing and able to access the information. I do not expect special attention, just information! Additionally - I emailed the hotel chef when I made our reservation for this event, left a message with the events voice mail and finally got through to the hotel receptionist (who promised to send an email back with answers) to inquire about the food menu, doing so well in advance in case we would need to cancel. To date I have not received any information, email or followup! Our final 'bad' was: the in-room coffee pot had a used tea bag floating in the water left from a previous guest - gross!

My wife and I wanted a low key relaxing weekend. Skyline was perfect. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The Oak Restaurant was the best meals I have had in a very long time. I would highly recommend Skyline.

The date we arrived is not listed. If your looking to get away from it all, including personal comfort, this lodge is for you. The only thing going for this place is the view. Bring your own food and avoid the DR at all costs.

It gets better and better all the time. This place makes me feel connected to nature. Yet, it exhibits all the comforts that one will expect from a world class hotel. Oak Steakhouse is a must. The agnolotti appetizer and the lobster risotto are magnificent. Will be back very soon

Beautiful lodge-like hotel. Wait staff was very courteous and attentive. Beautiful outside spaces to sit and enjoy the lovely views. Restaurant (Oak Steakhouse) was very good but a little pricey. Parking was a bit of an issue because of special events being held on the property. The only thing we didn’t love about the hotel was the room. We were in room 118 which was more like a second level hotel room (I.e. basement). There were windows and a nice balcony but the room was very damp and there were flies (yes, flies). The room badly needed a dehumidifier! Otherwise, it was comfortable and clean. Very nice bathroom. Needed another lamp in the room and a vanity type mirror above the desk. Also, if you have any issues with getting around on uneven ground or use a walking aid - recommend you specifically request an upper level room! I’m the wing we were in, we needed to be part mountain goat to get up and down and around! Probably won’t stay here again.

I love the revival of this hotel! They did a perfect job combining modern creature comforts with mid century mod design. Clean, great views from the fire pit, heated floor in bathroom felt luxurious! Be aware it is a short drive into town on winding roads. While the Oak steak house was very pricey, they offer great snacks and drinks at a reasonable price in the reception area.

What an experience it was!!!! The lodge has the most magnificent views!!!! The vibe is amazing too! And the food is just unreal delicious! New extra large fire pit needed but it was a very special time! We loved every minute! Thank you Skyline!

Favorite hotel stay in years! We went for a girls weekend and loved the super cool, laidback vibe. The communal courtyard was so lovely and a fun place to hang out. Beds are wonderfully comfortable and the heated bathroom floors are special treat. Very clean. However, the staff are the standout best thing about Skyline Lodge. Both Kelly and Graeme in the front office were over and above friendly, helpful and everything you want in hotel staff. My friend and I have already decided we are bringing our husbands back with us next time for a couples retreat.

We loved our stay at Skyline Lodge. Such a peaceful and scenic place. Great staff and accommodations. Downtown Highlands is just a short drive away. The Oak Steakhouse on-site was an added plus. We'll be coming back for future stays!

Vibe is very cool. Service at the restaurant was great. Food was good. Location was private but central. Sound of the water below was special at night. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was some of the details need attention: Chipped furniture. Little bit of trash in the room. Holes in the siding on the deck. Paint on the floor. If you have a room that is on the main patio floor it can be loud when others are outside. Hotel staff were very kind also.
