BlackBear Breakfast and Lunch

Needed a good breakfast for our daily hikes, saw this place thought, Okay, as long as it's not too busy. And it wasn't, we got in, sat down and enjoyed a great meal.

My Mexican burrito was huge and delicious. I was so stuffed. However, the hashbrown's were a little overbuttered. Just lots of butter too much in my opinion. Other than that, great coffee. Great service. Great meal at a great price.

I'm a Highlands local and this is a great little spot to avoid the crowds. Food was more than basic and delicious. Coffee was strong. We enjoyed wonderful avocado toast and a delicious burrito. We will be back!

We had read reviews about the service but we said hey we will try it. Yeah the service is bad. No smiles, good morning, “my name is -“. We were sat after a short wait, and waited about 5 minutes to ask what we would like to drink. Knowing the food may take a while we were ready to order food with our drink order, and she refused to allow us to order food at that time. One words answers only, no. When she finally came back and let us order food, I asked if I could add chocolate chips to my waffle and all she said was no over and over instead of just explaining maybe they didn’t carry them. No one came to refill our drinks or asked if we needed anything, and you have to go to the counter to pay your bill. The food was fine, but we wouldn’t come back because of the service. Sunday’s nothing else is open which is why I believe this place is able to stay in business.

Horrible experience. Waited for food for an hour and a half with our 10 month old and they forgot our food. Unacceptable. Unapologetic and said it would be another 30 min when I asked.
