Always good and diverse dishes. Service can be slow when crowded. Recommend reservations. Lovely vibe and good bar options!

Brutally awful experience. Food was extremely spicy and drinks were overly strong. Manager had less than no sympathy and refused to remove the uneaten food and drink from the check or provide any reasonable accommodation. Will never go back.

Amazing food!

We each chose the best thing on the menu; not that there was a poor choice.

Great cocktails too. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, we picked the Dark Chocolate Mousse.

After dinner we need to head to the Rookery.

Cheers

Excellent food - great sauces. Waitstaff is very good, knowledgeable and everyone helps each other.

I have been wanting to go to Nomad for years and was quite disappointed in my first visit. The service was incredibly slow, as they seemed understaffed. Tessa, our waitress, did the best she could, but she appeared to be responsible for the entire upstairs. My Szechuan chicken was completely dried out and the dumplings tasted like something I could have gotten anywhere. The atmosphere is fantastic, which is what had me wanting to go in the first place. Unfortunately, it might not be enough to lure me in again.

The special of Salmon Tikka was fabulous, and the staff person who fixed our wobbly table was gracious and very helpful. But we did feel a tiny bit ignored most of the time by our assigned wait staff.

Their butter paneer is AMAZING!! Great gyoza dumplings (pictured) and naan too!

I was dining alone and sat at the bar -- but immediately was welcomed to Hillsborough by my fellow patrons at the bar. And they were regulars and eager to give tips on the menu. I ordered the combination/mezzes platter with chicken and it was wonderful -- great flavors and variety! Accompanied by a cocktail and a glass of Argentinian Malbec, and the attentive service of the bar-keep, there wasn't anything else I could ask for -- except an additional order of naan to "sop" up all available sauces so they wouldn't go to waste. All in on Nomad from this diner!

Our first visit, but not our last. We love the variety of the menu! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and the cocktails were great.

My husband and I stopped here after a spa visit in the area. Their menu is on the limited side, but most things we had were really tasty, with perhaps the exception of the fries of the fish and chips. I've had much better. The Naan was also very bland. It's also a bit expensive for what you get.

My one dining experience at The Nomad was mixed but generally quite positive. While this is not a markedly great restaurant, it is a good restaurant with an innovative menu, and I will probably return. We were a party of three: my friend, my wife and me. The decor is sort of minimalist industrial, with a lot of exposed brick. We were seated at a table in a corner with such a strong cold draft that my wife had to put on jacket. We never lacked for service, and our food arrived in good time. Our waitress, while friendly and well-intentioned, did not seem have been trained to know about allergen precautions. I have celiac disease, and I had to coach her to make detailed inquiries in the kitchen to find out if a couple of fried items on the menu were really gluten free, as claimed. (They were!!) We each had a cocktail. Mine involved tequila and something sour, and it came with a bird pepper floating in it, and a rim of spicy hot salt. I don't normally like spicy hot cocktails, but this was very good. We started with the crispy brussels sprouts. My companions thought they were fantastic; I liked them too, but felt that the balsamic reduction sauce was overly sweet. For the main course, my companions ordered the chicken alfredo and the szechuan chicken -- both of which they liked I tasted the szechuan chicken and it was very good. I would order it again. My own dish was pad Thai, which was disappointing. It lacked the complexity of flavor of a real pad Thai; it also lacked many vegetables. Overall it was fairly bland. My wife sampled it and had the same opinion. Next time I will order something different, but I definitely can see myself returning.

I revisited this restaurant after being dissapointed a 3 years ago by the vegan options and have never been back since.
This time there was plentiful options, although most are labelled as spicy there was still some wiggle room and both me and my vegan wife were satisfied. The food was delicious. I'm therefore adjusting my review from 2 stars to 5. I will love to return. They were a little funny up front about lack of reservation, that's on my family but I'd recommend making reservation to avoid the awkward conversation haha.
Thanks for a great meal.

Nomad in Hillsborough is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always excellent and eclectic. We were there this past week to celebrate our anniversary. We started with the GYOZA DUMPLINGS and THAI CAULIFLOWER. My husband had the SZECHUAN CHICKEN, I had the PAD THAI. All excellent choices. The maitre d' and waitstaff are always welcoming and friendly. You're guaranteed a great experience at Nomad.

I brought my brother and his girlfriend to this local favorite and -- no surprise -- they loved it as much as I do. The Thai Cauliflower and the Gyoza Dumplings never disappoint, and the Szechuan Fried Rice is my new favorite dish.
