We parked in this restaurants lot for the beach festival at Holden Beach. Then we learned the owner had ten cars towed the day before. After finding this out, we moved our car. We returned later to enjoy a meal but called earlier to confirm they were pet friendly. The girl on the phone said it should be OK as they were at the end of the season. We were going to sit outside with our pup. However, the owner declined our request. Sounds like a real nice guy. Huh? Towing cars. Not customer friendly. Went to smacnally instead, and it was great.

Our party of 20 had a fantastic meal and experience at the Dockhouse! The food and drinks were delicious and the service was terrific. I have never seen a large party handled so well. It appears effortless to us but I know how much work it is. We were celebrating my dad’s 90th birthday. The staff helped make this a very special celebration.

Tried this restaurant today and it's awesome. Food was super tasty and the atmosphere is just what you expect while vacationing at the beach. I highly recommend if you're at Holden Beach to try this place out 👍

Wanted to sit outside upstairs was told 30 minute wait, typically no bIg deal BUT 3 tables open up there, so we were fine with sitting outside downstairs and was told they try not to sit people out there, yet there was a group of 6 sitting out there. The weather was perfect. It was a little after 7 o'clock on a Saturday and not busy in comparison. Needless to say we left.

We asked locals in the area for recommendations and Dock house was mentioned many times so we tried it and we really enjoyed it.

Absolutely delicious!!! Everything we ordered was fantastic, but the jerk pork chop was incredible with the Caribbean mango slaw!!!!! Definitely go to be one of our go-to's anytime we are in holden!

Great service and the food was yummy. Our waitress was on top things! We had food allergies in the group and she was vigilant that we didn't get anything we were allergic to.

This rating is deceiving, as there were highs and lows in our experience at Dock House Seafood Restaurant.
First, it is important to note that our serve person, Camillia was great! She was personable, knew the menu well and professional in her service. Five stars for Camillia.
However, first impressions were dismal. The young man who was acting as the host was too busy looking at his phone to acknowledge that we had come through the door. A young women at the bar had to get his attention. We requested to sit upstairs on the outdoor deck. Our host then gathered menus, without words or eye contact, skipped up the stairs (every other step) and walked us to our table. When we left the restaurant, he, again, didn't look up from his phone to say "thank you", "enjoy your evening" or any of the common courtesies one would expect from any restaurant. It's important to note that this was at 3:30 in the afternoon and there was no one at the bar and only 3 tables in use. Zero stars for the host.
If there was an acting manager on at this time, they should be either training this young man, correcting the behavior or letting him go. It is unfair that this hosts impression has a negative effect on the wait staff, bar tenders and cooks.
The food was okay. We had the shrimp tacos and the grouper tacos. The shrimp and grouper were tasty, but the slaw on the taco was more pickled and less fresh, which would have been a better balance for the fried food. Three stars for our meals.

Always a family favorite while at the beach!! Wonderful atmosphere & fantastic views!! The food and drinks are consistently great at every visit. While my husband and I always choose the seafood....my son, after a recommendation from a server many years ago, still gets the chicken & waffles and it is fantastic!! You won't be disappointed here no matter what you choose. Great restaurant!!

This is the 2nd time we ate there in one week the first time was really good this time was not the food was ok this time when you order fish and chips you would think you get a fish no you get two bigger size fish sticks and the portion size of the calabash shrimp was small this time . What really made it bad was The server grace was very lazy waitress only came to the table two to three times times. I ordered a mixed drink when we ordered food did not get it till i was done eating and it was watered down. Then she wanted to run her mouth about the tip to the other workers what she don't know is we were going to give her more when I got change but when we heard her run her mouth about what we left on the table I decided not to give her anymore how about you be a better waitress! And keep your mouth shut at least until you make sure you do get all your tip or the customer is gone.

Food = yummy. Service... ok. We sat outside. Person waiting tables was so busy we thought she forgot about us. She needed someone to help her. We asked for napkins every time she came out. She kept forgetting. Bless her heart. We were celebrating a friend's birthday.
