Antico Italian Restaurant

Someone recommended this place and we were very excited to try it. We will not be back, the food was very disappointing. My alla vodka sauce tasted store bought and my husband’s dish had no sauce. The marinara for the appetizer was definitely not freshly made. Just overall not a good experience.

We have been going to Antico for at least seven years; the food is normally excellent. Last visit, I had the lunch portion around 2PM Chicken Capricioso and the chicken was tough, barely any artichoke. This review was more of a heads up to the kitchen. I was kind on the “4” rating for the dish, as your dishes are typically wonderful. Also, our waiter was too busy socializing to notice the needs of his other customers.

The last three times have been an utter disappointment. Wow, I’ve recommended this place to SO many people, not to mention this used to be our go to spot. Will be taking a break- hopefully they can get not only the food but the service together.

Quality of dishes has suffered. I have photos of what it was like 6+ months ago vs the last 3 months. The dish had almost NO sauce. Had to ask
For extra & the guy was RUDE “ it will take at least 12 minutes to get you more” meanwhile he let me sit there with my cold food to wait. While my husband finished his food & this was our Valentine’s Day celebration. The people next to us got there well after us & ordered after us but got food before us.

I get that places and people have off days. When it’s a frequent issue then it’s a problem.. We get passed over for service constantly & when asking for items we never receive in a time manner& have to ask more than once.

The owner has had to fix issues when only bringing it to her attention ( which was wonderful when she is there)

I don’t mind spending the money on good food & service but when we are sitting there for over 2 hours with issues it makes us not want to come back.

Will not be recommending for a while.

Food was good, service not so good. We had a long interval (45 min) between appetizers and entrees. All the other parties around us who arrived after us received their entrees before us and some left before we were served.

Very conflicted about this because our family was here less than 2 weeks ago on a Monday and had the best food. Now that it’s Friday night and busy the service and food is way below par. We waited 20mins for a table and 40 mins for food which is fine if the food is good but we were highly disappointed. Not to mention our server Emily was so busy she barely had a chance to even come over to our table. Let alone notice that my wife didn’t eat any of her food because the shrimp scampi was so plain and so salty it wasn’t worth the $20 price or that the pork tenderloin on my plate wasn’t really touched because it was too tough to eat. We tried to get her attention but it was unsuccessful so we just asked for some boxes and left. So I guess if you’re going to go here pick a day that won’t be busy.

We had a wonderful evening and meal. Our waitress Laurie was fabulous. She was so informative and friendly. She has plenty of insight to the food and drinks. So enjoyed our visit here and would highly recommend.

These prices cannot be justified for a mediocre food. This is not Capri or Amalfi Coast. You opened a restaurant in a small village called Huntersville. Will not go again!

I loved the calm casual service. I loved the food. It was very authentic, and inviting. Felt the waitstaff was very understanding and prompt. I felt cared for and helped. Such a wonderful place to go for when my family relatives come to town.

I was expecting a lot more and was severely disappointed. The dish was very bland and the pasta was drowned in sauce. They also got my wife’s dish wrong. The service was mediocre at best. I would not recommend this place and don’t think I’ll be going back.

Small little place, so if you come with a party larger than 4 you might have to wait a bit. They did bring us brushetta to snack on while we wait that was delish! Staff was friendly, food was very good and prices were very reasonable.

My husband and I came in last night for a quick dinner. Courtney was amazing! I don't leave a lot of reviews but that was the best service I've had in a long time. We own a restaurant and it is so hard to find people like her!!

It's a little hole in the wall place. The food was good, and the ingredients were fresh. The staff were very helpful. There was a large party of people in the center of the restaurant that were very loud and disruptive to the entire place. We couldn't even hear the staff explain the special! My fault was that none of the staff asked the party to be a little more respectful of others trying to dine.

The food was alright! The food wasn't flavorvable and the cheese ravioli barely had cheese in it. I'm not sure if it was the cook that night, this was our frist and last visit. Olive Garden is much better!
