There was not an option for very rude little blonde host so I apologize for picking bartender. But on Saturday my girlfriend and I chose to go to Birkdale for a little shopping. after we were done we grabbed some food at Brixx which was great service and food then decided to try this wine bar. As soon we walk in we see the place is not busy at all on a Saturday and proceed to the bar where the little blonde host asked us what we were doing. I said we just want a glass of wine and maybe do a tasting. She asked if we had a reservation. We had no clue we needed one with the amount of empty seats around. She said well you can't just come in here without a reservation. We were like ok and we're gonna leave then she said I do have a small table you can sit at for a short period of time but you will need to leave by 7. We reluctantly took it and ordered a wine flight. The more we thought about it the more upset we became. The server we had was very nice and did apologize for their rude and cold behavior and told us that it was their busy season so they do have reservations but also said what we did about the place being empty at that time that they should have been more accommodating and welcoming. we got Sat at the smallest table away in the corner bypassing not only the bar seating but other more comfortable tables. If you want the exclusive reservation crowd then don't open your establishment in public places where people of all walks of life are shopping and eating. Paid over $40 for mediocre wine and only stayed 20 mins at the most. I'm not telling people to not go but I can say that we will not return. It's sad that places still view the status of others to determine if they are worthy of their time. We will stay with the Afton Wine Room where they enjoy all their patrons.
**Restaurant Review**
I had such a great experience at this location! The place was spotless, and I felt genuinely welcomed from the moment I walked in. The customer service was fantastic, both over the phone and in person.
I ordered the turkey sandwich, and it was perfectly prepared—juicy and flavorful. The manager seemed very friendly, which added to the positive vibe. My server, Morgan, was exceptional! She went above and beyond to provide not just great service but also a level of respect and care that I truly appreciated.
While I waited (which wasn’t long at all), they were kind enough to recommend a sweet treat. The food, wine, and caramel donuts were absolutely delicious—yum! The outdoor seating area was lovely too, making for a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.
For anyone planning to visit, just a heads-up: if you're going for lunch or something more than small bites, check the cut-off time, as they usually stop serving in the afternoon M-F (around 2pm, I think). Also, for the staff, keep up the great work, and maybe just ensure orders are taken and delivered promptly since most of us come in hungry or thirsty. Quick service goes a long way—LOL!
Thank you again to Morgan and the entire team for such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this spot, and I’ll definitely be back! Morgan was the best sever ever!

Danielle and Morgan are my favorites to visit during the holiday season! They take care of my family so well, even helped with a custom pizza for my toddler who’s a picky eater.

. This is the third time I have been here. The first time was excellent because you had specials ( a fish special and it was great.) The second time the food was so full of salt and spices it was awful. Last night I called before I came and they assured me that the menu was changed and it was so good. I took her word and they had many 1 or 2 items new.(very disappointing )I ordered a flatbread bc everyone was raving about them. Not good.. hardly any cheese and they upcharges 4.00 for salami . The bill came and the amount was comparable to Red Rocks and Fin and Fino. (I didnt have alcohol either) Your food really needs to step it up if you want to have loyal customers. There is no way this food compares to your competitors. I absolutely hated writing this review bc I am a resident here and would love to have another option I could walk to.pleas step it up

Both sandwiches were very tasty and big. The truffle fries were extra crispy, which we both loved. Delicious.

I’m so bummed to write this review, as we love the other Foxcroft location in Charlotte. The food came out the second we ordered it, and I mean within seconds. This made for a very strange pace for our dinner. Our server couldn’t be less thrilled to be there and didn’t even make eye contact with us. Drinks came out late or not at all, with us cancelling 3 of our orders. The olives and mushroom pasta were great. Agreed with other reviewers that the lighting was way too bright. Unfortunately we will not be returning and taking our business to Fin & Fino.

Had a reservation for 7:30pm. Upon being seated, we were told the hours had changed and we had to put in our dinner orders immediately. Ordered the larger charcuterie board and the lamb sliders. Food arrived before our drinks and we felt extremely rushed. Charcuterie board for $28 was poorly thrown together and some of the meat was inedible. Waitress didn’t have wine recommendations besides referring to the flights they offered. With so many other options in birkdale village I would not recommend or go back.
We had a five star experience. I am not sure about the bad reviews and I won’t invalidate their experience. For us, we felt very comfortable. Morgan was the best waitress. She was honest and always check in on us. The staff including the manager were attentive. I had on freaking yellow socks and expecting to go to Cava but ended here lol. Food was flavorful. The flatbread—-make sure to ask for extra cheese. The chicken sandwich since no honey mustard, I asked for spicy mustard. We had the truffle fries too. It was good. The wine tasting guy was so kind and we left with two unplanned bottles. The food wasn’t too expensive either. We went during lunch time on a Saturday if that gives you the best time to go.

Tonight I was told they changed their hours but allowed someone else to go in right after me. Okay discrimination.

Im very surprised with all the 5 star reviews on here for foxcroft. For Birkdale, there are enough options now for drinks and dinner to have this many things wrong and compete long term.
Atmosphere: The lights inside are ABSURDLY bright. Does not give off any wine bar ambiance. If your restaurant is more bright than Cheesecake Factory, you need to take a hard look at that. Looking for darker place to relax and have some wine? Patio at night right? Wrong. They have literal spotlights on the edge of the roof facing the tables. It seems so odd to me they insist on the brightest atmosphere possible. That part was definitely unfortunate. Also the frozen margarita machine in the bar was so loud. I know it sounds like I’m extra here. But dead serious, if you’re sitting near it, it sounds like a jet engine that kicks on every 2 mins. I’m just overall disappointed with the atmosphere, especially if you are looking for a more relaxed cute date night. We didn’t sit in the restaurant (only patio and bar area) but the lighting concerns prevailed through whole restaurant.
Servers: All of them are amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable and they were all so so so great and accommodating.
Food: Very hit or miss. The charcuterie board was very thrown together. Just stacked pepperoni and salami in a pile. No real effort in styling it or making it look visually appealing. It was fine- but again just odd to me that wouldn’t be more focused on a quintessential staple of a wine bar.
Truffle fries were good- but it’s fried potato’s with cheese and whipped mayo, I would hope they are good. No shade, just saying lol
Rigatoni was very good- rich, creamy, little spicy, great texture balance between noodles and crisped edge sausage. This was a home run
Doughnuts- they were fine fresh, and fluffy. Clearly put effort into them, good balance between sweet and savory. Great way to top of meal for sweet tooth, but wouldn’t say “wow” you have to try these.
Overall experience was fine, I wouldn’t call this a traditional ‘wine bar’. I would call it more a suburban restaurant that serves wine, and you can get food there too if you want. I think it’s trying to appeal to every demographic, which is understandable, just unfortunate
