We had a great meal at El Cafetal. We started with beef empanadas- they came out piping hot and were really tasty with the hot sauce provided. My husband had the Bandeja Paisa and I had the Pechuga de Champiñón. He usually orders this when it’s on a menu, but he really enjoyed their version. I had never had my dish before and I already want to go back. Super creamy and savory- it felt like something grandma would make. Comforting and fresh. Our server was very friendly and asked if we had any questions before taking our order. We had a great experience that I’m surprised at some of these reviews! We will be back soon.

The food is good; however, for a traditional bandeja paisa, the rice portion is quite large, while the beans are scarce.
The server is not Colombian, which is fine with me. However, her customer service lacked warmth and engagement—it felt more like taking an order at McDonald's than providing a welcoming dining experience.
Overall, the restaurant is okay.

I have already visited this restaurant several times, I feel that every time I go they lower the quality of the food a little, my husband ordered some beans and told me that they tasted strange, like old ones. I ordered rice with chicken the first time I ate it, and it was delicious. This one, which was the last one, out of 1 to 10, I give it a 4. It was more rice and dry, it really had no flavor.
