I drove past this restaurant many times over a 15 year period and after finally stopping in today for Sunday breakfast, I can say I should have again just drove by.
I ordered eggs, sausage link, home fries and toast with a single pancake on the side, coffee.
Listed are items that I would kindly ask the owner to consider.Key items to making a meal enjoyable are lacking.
Coffee is weak
No Splenda available
Hunt’s ketchup instead of Heinz
Off brand whipped spread instead of butter pads
Watered down maple syrup
Luke warm pancake when served
Home fried potatoes simply just cubed and deep fried
In my opinion by trying to save food costs the meal experience was just not good.

I got the grilled chicken breast and it was literally the smallest chicken breast I have ever seen. I've seen chicken tenders bigger than the $14 chicken breast plate that I ordered. When I asked the waitress why it was so small, she replied that they're all that way. Then she tried to charge me $2.50 for a glass of water that was supposed to be included with the meal. Pretty crappy service and pretty crappy food. I definitely won't be back to this greasy restaurant.

2wks each Labor Day we’ve been coming to Onslow Beach always trying the local establishments. Today was Sun Brunch and since Central Cafe is no longer an option (FB says its open (??)) I thought to try another local establishment for Sunday brunch ~10:30am we both ordered Eggs Fried Over Medium on top of Corned Beef Hash with a side of Grits, spouse got local coffee took 1 sip spit it back in the cup & i knew then I should have let him talk me into The Kettle or worse the Nightwatch chain place. It’s 3pm & my grits are still repeating the stale old bacon grease used in the recipe. Our Eggs were not FRIED over Med but very dry over Med & the hash was out of a can or bag the Grits had to have been made with very old stale bacon grease & water. Now while my spouse was expecting southern grits (made with milk & cheese or at least milk I was not YET i didn’t expect them to be still repeating on my at 3pm. We are NOT trying to dis the local hotspot yet having moved 50 times in my 59yrs via the USN we’ve been exposed to many cities many cultures of 5 Star Michelin rated & the hidden gem holes in the wall tourists are never told about TATOO MOOSE in Charleston is one I eat crow on for not wanting to try yet still after > decade highly recommend to all visiting. On the plus side having been in Restuarant hospitality for over a decade and having Capt at the Broadmoore in Co Springs & a fully trained world traveled chef in the family we can rate hidden gems holes in the wall to Michelin rated establishments. That said the head server was diligent about cleaning out the TEA Urns, the servers as a whole were all diligent in keeping ones beverages fully topped off about every 5min (same cannot be said for SC establishments in Bluffton or Hilton Head!) The Texas Pete Red Hot Sauce actually tasted like Texas Pete Vinegar Chili Pepper Sauce yet watered down: It’s not Texas Pete hot sauce so please stop using the squeeze bottle labeled so and sell whatever merch sauce it is your using instead. Furthermore all the table condiments had not at all been wiped down as side work in a spell (-0- way to convince this head server its was this am’s breakfast that made everything sticky to the touch from last nights close out side work…just sayin is all). My spouse immediately stopped at a Burger King to order a whopper & soda cause he was hungry. We will not be back and we will not bad mouth it yet will not refer it.

First time visiting there but it sure won't be my last. The country atmosphere is very inviting and the staff are attentive and wonderfully friendly. The restaurant as well as the restroom were very clean. I ordered catfish and shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. Everything I saw people eating looked delicious as well ?. The prices are very reasonable and you are served generous portions. I will definitely be a repeat customer!!

If you want some good country cooking, this is the place to come. Tuesday's lunch feature is collards, pork backbone, fried cornbread plus another side dish of your choice. The collards, backbone and fried cornbread is the best that I have eat at any restaurant, right next to my Mama's cooking used to be.

My wife and I had breakfast here for the first time. We both had omelets and they were good. My wife had the grits and they were delicious. I had the home fries and they were cooked perfectly. The food took forever to come out to our table.

Not what I was expected from a long time local restaurant. Biscuits were flat and tough although flavor was good. Omelet was just ok. The cheese was a slice of processed American cheese product. Generous with the ham and veggies, though. Best thing was the atmosphere of local friendliness and the coffee which our server kept coming.
