7 pm on a Saturday before Mother’s Day no mention of celebrating Mom anywhere. The place relatively empty.. Proceeded to order & was informed by our server a laundry list of major and minor ingredients and dishes not available. No hamburgers, no chili, no sweet potato chips, no tomatoes, no mushrooms, no mint and on and on. We had two adults and one child dining. The server was apologetic and very attentive. Spent two and half almost three hours there. Our son got a hot dog that went half eaten and was not appetizing, wife got wings served cold with a bad odor (but she 4 consumed due to extreme hunger) and a sopping wet salad with primarily only lettuce. I had underwhelming tacos. No manager in sight. A woman seated and escorted out after being informed the kitchen is closing early for the night. A couple at bar looking around for service and after one drink leaving. A sad picture of what was a vibrant hopeful possibility in Jacksonville. We’ve eaten at Dewey’s before and we were pleased. I’m not sure this ship can be righted but if so, there needs to be a tremendous overhaul. My wife was stricken with nausea & sweating with stomach cramps and immediate weakness after consuming the wings. I Thought an ambulance might be in order. Needless to say, it was not the experience we hoped for. Not sure why we stayed or paid the bill for the questionable food. Our waitress, Summer, was the only bright spot.

Great atmosphere and extremely good food. I had grilled shrimp, highly recommended. Wife had a pomegranate martini and Irish espresso martini, both were delicious!!

I dislike leaving bad reviews, but it has been more than one occasion, and once again this place disappoints with the quality of their food. We were there recently for brunch, I ordered the Court St breakfast. The eggs were overcooked, potatoes undercooked, and the waffles tasted old, as if they had been sitting for hours, they weren’t even crunchy. (See photo) For $13, I was expecting a much better meal than what was brought out. The coffee was nothing to brag about either, it was really watered down. My friend ordered the waffle sandwich and she was disappointed as well. The quality of the meal should reflect your prices. The vibe in the restaurant is good & the place is nice, but unfortunately, the food needs work. On another occasion, I ordered a taco plate & a margarita. This also left a lot to be desired. Our first visit was for their grand opening, which was the only time the food was good, and each time after I’ve been really hoping to like it. Needless to say, it will be a while before I go back.

Didn't try the food but drinks were good. Service wasn't attentive enough and it was hard to get her attention, we were also basically the only people in there. I will be trying it again. Drinks were very good!

Best bloody mary in the area. But the food is super bland. Ordered the mini biscuits and gravy with a side of over easy eggs. No spice of any kind. No salt, no pepper nothing to make it tastes anything other than flour and egg. The gravy was flour and water, the biscuits just flour and the eggs were just bland eggs. The potatoes were delicious tho even though you only get like half of a half of a regular sized potatoes. Portion size is so tiny for how expensive it is. Food isn't worth it but the bloody mary made up for it.

It was ok service was not where it needs to be first they said in order to have table we had to sign in tables were reserved . One hour wait then we could set done . The host then gave us a table we had 3 different waitresses. Food was ok hamburger slider we order fries we never got them . A young lady played music that was the reason we stayed as long as we did she was pretty good . Not a place for real adults over 40

Came out to Dewey’s for the first time for a book event. We were greeted by a super nice hostess/server and we were told to sit anywhere we would like and a server would come take our order. And then 20 minutes went by… A little disappointed because I was looking forward to trying it but I just don’t think they were prepared to have as large of a turn out as they received. I can’t give a fair rating yet because I haven’t been able to try the food.

This place is a definite date night location, get a sitter for the kids, go out and relax. Sit on the couch next to one of the fire places and have fun. NC burger is a go too.

First time visiting tonight. For starters, as an original local I wanted to love this place. I love seeing our downtown revitalized. I’m not sure if they just had a really rough night or what but I’ve never been more disappointed in a restaurant than I was tonight. My friend and I put our name on the list at 645. Given the fact it’s a payday weekend I expected a wait. We were told 45-50 minutes. We got in the long line to order a drink. At the bar we were greeted and the bartender was kind, but this is where it went downhill. My friend ordered a drink, that isn’t super unpopular, and the bartender gave her a blank stare and told her sorry I don’t drink I don’t know what that is. She didn’t even try to ask for help. My friend then ordered a basic margarita like I did and just moved on. The margarita tasted like just mix, no alcohol. We ordered a second drink and the same blank stare happened when she tried to order something else. The bartender said “I’m sorry I know I’m the worst”. Still, she didn’t try to ask for help. At this point it was 745 and we still hadn’t been given an update on a table. Around 815 the hostess said she could seat us but that the kitchen was backed up and it would be even more of a delay. We went ahead and got the table and ordered an app. This came out promptly. We put in our order for burgers after that. Around 9 or a little after the waitress came back and asked what we ordered so she could check on it. She then came back and told us the burger I ordered wasn’t available, this was an hour after we had already ordered! At this point it was clear she forgot to put in our order if she’s just now telling us they are out. I ordered something else at this point. After about 15 minutes my friend and I were just over it and ready to leave since it had been over 3 hours we had been here and still hadn’t gotten food. We told the waitress if our order hadn’t been started we want to cancel and leave. She did apologize but never once sent a manager over. Our water was never refilled. We were still billed for the app we ordered as well. All that said I’m incredibly sad and disappointed for this place. I wanted to love it and I want it to succeed but if they don’t get it together it will just be another failed non-chain establishment in the city.
