We had great food in a warm atmosphere. The service was great and attentive. She was very helpful in providing menu suggestions. We had a wonderful time.

Food was excellent…… If you like crab dip it’s not made with blue crab 🦀 meat so I have to rate it as a NO-NO, imitation crab meat should not be used in crab dip.. .. Over all everything was on Q, service was great and you don’t leave hungry…. Atmosphere and service with no wait time can’t ask for anything better ❤️

The food is second to none, don't bother with the salt and pepper the food was seasoned so well it needs nothing but your fork. I gave it 4 stars only because of the price. We had the small steak dinner and each had a small salad (which were delicious) and 2 sodas. $157.00 before the tip, bringing the total to just under $200.00 was it excellent food? Yes. Was it worth $200.00.....no.

We decided to try Ducks Grille & Bar for brunch on a Sunday morning. First impressions weren’t great—the restaurant is tucked into a strip mall along a busy road in Jacksonville, NC, and the exterior lacks curb appeal. Thankfully, the interior tells a different story. The atmosphere is upscale casual and much more inviting once inside. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive, though they did forget to put in our appetizer order. When the crab dip finally arrived, it was rushed and underwhelming—bland and likely made with imitation crab. Honestly, it would’ve been better if it never made it to the table. As for the main dishes, opinions were mixed. Our group of five ordered the coconut shrimp, eggs benedict (with bacon—Canadian bacon wasn’t an option), waffles, a steak and egg breakfast burrito, and calamari. Nothing really stood out, and overall, the food was just average. Some of us enjoyed parts of our meals, others not so much. Overall, Ducks has potential, especially with the nicer interior and solid service, but the execution—especially the crab dip—fell short. It’s not a place we’d rush back to for brunch.

Not a fun or respectable place, told to leave for having a good time. Patrons are not friendly it’s a piss hole for a beer and that’s about it thumps down

Food is decent... but at the price point it seems over the top to charge for condiments like mustard and mayo.

We went for lunch and it wasn't very busy. The food wasn't bad. The atmosphere feels like you're supposed to have a glass of wine with whatever you're having. The service was slightly on the slow, at the time of our visit, but overall it was alright. We'd like to come back in the evening time for one of the various events & see how that is.

Enjoyed catching up with family over dinner. I had the coconut shrimp, I enjoyed it but I was surprised by the portion size. Although, I may have ordered an appetizer as my meal. Either way it was a good experience overall. Our server was kind and I liked the atmosphere.

Well, we're new to the JAX area and heard good things about Ducks, so we booked a reservation for New Years Eve. Upon arrival, we were lead through the main restaurant into the back opening area where the New Years Eve party was to be held. It was like going into a separate building. Bland surroundings, not like the main area. Well, Duck's was supposed to be noted for their steaks, so I wanted my wife to order the Ribeye, and she insisted that I order the Filet. Both were on the menu priced "At Market Price", which I've NEVER seen for a piece of meat. Lobster Yes, Meat No. When reading the description, they were called "Montreal", whatever that means. Well, we started out with the Crab Dip for $ 13, which was good for two people, but there was no fresh bread or nice hot yeast rolls offered. When the steaks came, they were dropped on top of a serving of garlic mashed potatoes and small amount of button mushrooms. Both of these were considered "sides". Combining both, I considered it equal to one side. BTW, there was no house salad or Caesar salad as part of the selection. Those were a la carte at $ 9.00 each for the small version. I ordered a side dish called "garlic wilted spinach" and it lived up to it's name. Pretty tasteless and wilted. Both steaks, the 8 oz. filet and the 12 oz. ribeye were prepared exactly how we ordered them and they were very good. Then the Bill came. $ 49 for the ribeye and a whopping $ 56 for the filet. I was shocked. In some of our other favorite steak places, like Texas Roadhouse, Longhorns and even Outback, my steak would have been 1/2 the price, maybe $ 28. In summary, the food was good, but for the prices charged, it was NOT a good value. We ordered water and the bill came to a whopping $ 132 after tax. We left an $ 18.00 tip for our server, who was very attentive. We might be back for their Monday Taco Night or their All You Can East boneless wings on Tuesday, but a full blown dinner for us is "off the menu". If they had offered some freshly baked bread, a small salad and 2 legitimate sides, the prices charged would have been close to being worth it. BTW, the highlight of the night was the dessert, which I had at home made by my wife called "coconut flan". If you can find it in JAX, try it. Best Cuban dessert there is.

My husband ended up in the ER in Jacksonville on Friday at 1:30 pm, after eating there around 2pm on Thursday. Bacterial infection in his colon. He got the club sandwich and fries. I got the lunch special grilled cheese and she crab soup. I didn't get sick, but he did. He was perfectly fine before We ate there. Didn't have anything else to eat after that. So be cautious. Cross contamination somewhere that day. What a shame because it's a cute place, the waitress was very nice and polite. Except for the food poisoning and was a nice place

$17 slice of cake. Samples are brought out and prices are not mentioned. It’s my fault for not asking but desert shouldn’t cost half as much as your meal.

The meal itself was fantastic, the duck and accompanying vegetables were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. Skip the cake it’s really not worth it.

I had the lamb and duck. Lamb was like licking charcoal. It cut like butter but all you taste was burnt and sand. Called loli-chops play on words is valid 3 lollipops $40. Duck was delicious 2 nuggets 40. Risotto was like correct southern sweet tea on rice and cheese. Gross. Bar area noise makes talking impossible. Plating and presentation like getting friend zoned you're expecting more and they accepted its jacksonville. Overall we were disappointed again and we went to Cajun Seafood right after we left. Waitress was attentive friendly and kind praises just to her!!
