So disappointed. Ordered white cake with buttercream frosting. I HATE WHIPPED FROSTING. Picked up cake today. Couldn't wait to get it home to cut it. It was WHIPPED. Called them and they said that's the kind of buttercream we use. NEVER AGAIN. So if you're looking for the old timey sweet buttercream, you want get it here.

This is my absolute favorite bakery in town. I grew up in a small business bakery with family and friends and have missed having a bakery like that around. Essential Sweets gives me all those vibes. The owner and staff and incredibly sweet. Even if I message them on Facebook, they reply quickly and they're always happy to help. The cakes are amazing and priced perfectly. I ordered a cake from another popular cake bakery in town and it doesn't compare to Essential Sweets. And they're always coming up with something new and delicious. The only con I would mention, is they don't put nearly enough glazed strawberries in their cakes. I'm sure if I asked, they would have no problem doing so. It's just so delicious, I need triple the amount, haha. They've made our special occasions extra special. You can tell they love what they do and it shows in their goodies.

We had our gender reveal cake made here and it was such a wonderful experience! Our results came in late and they were able to accommodate us. The cake was so beautiful and absolutely delicious! I would recommend anyone to use this bakery!

I come here a lot and it’s always amazing! Today was extra special. I usually bring my son in with me who is on the spectrum and non speaking. The gentleman who helped us was extra kind and extra patient with helping us figure out with sugar cookie my son wanted and took the time to point at each one to help him communicate what he wanted. I can’t thank you enough! And it was yummy too!

This is one of my more favorite dessert shops in Jacksonville, they are very hit or miss depending on what you get and the prices are a little on the higher end, but I do feel like they align with the quality of what you’re getting. The Apple pie cheesecake is by far my favorite choice there, if you’re lucky enough to have it when they have it jump on it.

I have Irish twins that are two days apart and needed two cakes for their birthday party! My daughter wanted a Peppa pig themed cake and my son wanted a Mario themed cake. Essential Sweets not only delivered with the design but knocked it out of the park with flavor. The cakes were moist and everyone enjoyed them! My mother even suggested having them bake our cakes for next year, which we will! You should have heard my kids scream with excitement as we brought the cakes out for them to blow out the candles. That’s what it’s all about and I couldn’t have been happier! Thanks for being apart of my children’s special day and making everyone smile with your wonderful cakes!
