First time there while visiting a Marine buddy in Jacksonville, NC. He chose the location and what a PERFECT Choice! The Food & Service were GREAT! Cozy place and DIANE, our server did a WONDERFUL JOB! Highly Recommended and I'll be sure to return when back in town!
I absolutely love this place! I have gone every year for my birthday! And of course regularly for biscuits and gravy. Feels like home away from home, and so many memories!!
This is a great breakfast place if you're just looking for a comfortable breakfast

The treatment of some staff members. Cussing at them in front of customers and wanting them to stay in the kitchen and not socialize with others. Knowing the manager personally. I'm somewhat not surprised. Do better Billy.
First time here and the food and service was great. Local favors and such friendly people. If you meet and two vegs this is the place.

The service was certainly very good (waitress actually brought a whole pitcher of iced tea for me). The atmosphere is pleasant - locals gathering familiarly for breakfast and coffee. And my eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and biscuits were okay; but nothing rose above middling. In fact I was a bit disappointed in the much-praised biscuits. They weren't particularly fluffy and no taller than 3/4" risen. And served with imitation butter tubs which didn't help their cause. Helen's was simply an adequate breakfast in a relaxed eatery without notable upside. Good enough but not great.
They clearly try to save money on all fronts. Definitely a "regulars" type place with an inexperienced and inattentive staff. Take the 5 minute drive and eat at Cracker Barrel.

I would like to express my concern regarding the recent experience I had at Helen's Kitchen. The environment appeared to foster discriminatory practices, which is both unprofessional and unacceptable in any establishment. Additionally, the service I received was zero, with an excessive wait time of over ten minutes and not being acknowledged by staff. It is imperative that all patrons are treated with respect and dignity, and I hope that management will address these issues to improve the overall dining experience for everyone.

Other than the cashier talking to the person in front of me about personal stuff and made me wait for at least ten minutes before she waited on me while my 87 year old mother was waiting in the car . the food was great
