We had a wonderful breakfast this morning at The Kettle Diner in Jacksonville, NC. The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious! Just the kind of hearty, homestyle meal you hope for at a local diner. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. If you’re looking for a great spot for breakfast with good portions and great flavor, this is the place to go!

Small place but mighty tastes experienced by my friends and I here in this diner in Jacksonville NC. Food was home cooked and delicious. I had the grilled pork chop, sweet potato and collard greens, with a slice of Andes Mint chocolate cake for dessert. Our server was professional and attentive, and the atmosphere had a hometown welcoming vibe that enhanced our experience here. I highly recommend this place!

The Kettle Diner is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was PHENOMENAL. Every staff member greeted me with warm, genuine smiles and made sure I felt welcomed and well taken care of. As a person of color, I truly appreciated the hospitality and kindness shown to me—it made the experience even more special.
The atmosphere inside is cozy and homey, and it’s clear that this place has maintained its charm over the years. Even though I hadn’t visited in a while, the amazing service and delicious food haven’t changed a bit. The menu offers an abundance of choices, and the desserts on the counter were fresh, cold, and ready to enjoy.
The location is super convenient, situated near Jacksonville Town Hall and the sheriff’s office. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, though the outside could use a little TLC—parking and some concrete repairs would go a long way.
I also love that they offer online ordering for delivery or pick-up! It’s a great option for those who want to enjoy their food at home. However, I did find it a little difficult to locate them on Instacart, so I’d recommend using their website instead for a smoother experience.
The wait time for my to-go order was minimal, and the prices are very reasonable. For three people, the bill came to less than $40, which is a great deal for the quality and portion sizes.
This small business is clearly thriving and is a wonderful asset to the community. It’s the perfect spot to bring grandparents, family, or friends for a relaxing meal. The staff’s camaraderie gives off a true family vibe, making the experience even more enjoyable.
My only critique is the exterior maintenance, but even with that, The Kettle Diner deserves a solid 4.5 out of 5. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and exceptional service!
Vegetarian options: There are meatless options to choose from breakfast, brunch, or dinner. However this is a traditional southern mom and pop restaurant so don't expect to find a lot of vegan options.
Dietary restrictions: Also recommend for those who are diabetic or high/low blood pressure. The food is served with little salt and you have the options to add more. If you need a sugary tear to bring up that low sugar, they have them everywhere .
Parking: This establishment is normally packed with civilians so parking can sometimes be scarce but if you come at the right time you can snag a good parking. There may also be parking in the back.
Kid-friendliness: Mainly an adult dine in spot but they have a kid friendly menu to choose from as well as spacing for strollers or even wheel chairs.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are two wheelchair accessible entrances. One is a ramp and the other is flat on the concrete but spacious. Easily able to move around with your chairs.

Just went today for the first time in three years and food quality is shot down. Got home and now my whole family is sick throwing up and has diarrhea. Took forever to get food out and barely saw our waitress. Didn’t even have silverware when food hit the table. I am very upset with my experience especially having spent almost 75 with tip. Never again do I want to eat here.

It was really really good! Husband got hamburger steak, cabbage and apple sauce and I got Chicken Hibachi, comes with Yum Yum sauce as well😋!! 5 stars all the way!! Drinks were very good and fresh as well! Very clean and laid back! Amazing friendly service as well!! Love you Kettle🫶🏻
