Capt. Bob Beck’s Marina Cafe

I, my wife, my son and his wife went on the Valentines river cruise. The crew was friendly enough, until they served dinner, then I got the impression they didn't like me. The portions were extremely small, extremely....and the flavor was pretty bad. This in no way shape form or fashion measured up to the $75 per couple sailing price. I won't be patronizing their business and I cannot give them a rating any higher than 1.5 out of 5 stars. it says i recommend them, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND them.

The atmosphere and service were good, the food was pretty terrible. (Visited on Jan 2nd) When ordering fried shrimp on the water I expect actual shrimp, not baskets of baby shrimp with the veins still in. The oysters, while plentiful, were hap-hazardly piled on a regular plate and were fairly tasteless. The steak was overcooked and tasted odd….the chicken sandwich was just blah. Honestly the shrimp was the most disappointing part though, I’ve had much better bar food, let alone seafood. PS, I selected that I “do not recommend” this place yet review still shows 10/10 recommend. Suspicious.

I have not eaten anything at the Marina that I've not loved. The food is always good as is the service. The outdoor dining is great. The bar staff and drinks are great. The menu is extensive and I have eaten there with kids and large crowds and everyone is happy with the food. We went in a large group for a celebration of life on a Monday evening and we were impressed even with our large group of about 18. The appetizers, food, kids meals, dessert. It was all really good. The service even with our large group was good. Super sweet server and Bob Beck is very accommodating as always. 💯 recommend the Marina, we eat here as much as we can ❤️

Absolutely wonderful food and service! We were traveling back home to Wilmington after visiting the Outer Banks and we had our dog with us. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The crab melt sandwich was absolutely delicious 😋 We will definitely be visiting again 😊

Fun place and great food!

I liked the food and our waitress was nice but the sanitation rate was 87, the manager was talking way too loud, bathrooms were dirty didn’t look like they have been cleaned since 2009 and there was a mirror that looked like it was the first mirror ever made, and there was a dangerous pigeon in a cage. So I wouldn’t recommend it unless it is to go. But some of my family didn’t like the food. Like I said I wouldn’t recommend it.

I absolutely hands down love the MUTT MENU! I have a service dog and it’s always a more enjoyable experience to order items specifically tailored to dogs. More places should take note! This place not only had delicious food and great atmosphere, but just an entirely separate menu dedicated to furry friends!!

first time that we’ve ever been disappointed, this is usually our favorite place to go and the best seafood without having to go to Cape Carteret or Morehead. The outside tables and sliders/gliders have not been cleaned since last year for the weather so there was black mold all over the tables and chairs and the sliders/gliders. This is probably the first time food has ever been a lesser quality and cold. Service would have been more than above average had we had refills, napkins, and other utensils without having to ask numerous times

I think this is the nicest place in town if you want a relaxed experience. For some reason the parrot out back would always go ballistic when I sat down outside. I’m not sure if that means he likes me or hates me but it was always fun. He tried to take my fork once and I didn’t know what to do. Thankfully the kind waitress came and resolved the situation.

Found a long hair in my daughter's food God knows what I ate. The manager still made me pay for my food. Don't eat here...

It’s cute inside, outside was packed so we played games in the arcade until we were ready to sit at the table. Took a VERY long time to get service, I don’t know if their just low staffed but we did have to repeat ourselves a couple times. The drinks were good it just took forever to come out, my whole family ended up throwing up our food hours after leaving n have been sick since. The service n food could have really been better. Will not be returning, felt bad cause I recommend this place cause I had it years ago, IT IS NOT THE SAME.
