Honey, I don't know who Mittie is but she can have all my money!!! The food is good GOODT! My co-workers and I are stuffed and satisfied from the oxtails, curry chicken, fried chicken, rice, mac-n-cheese and yams! I'll tell you what all! Y'all better go get a plate next time they open up.!

The food here is sooo good. I had the curry chicken and it was very flavorful and tender. It wasn't dry like some carribbean places make it. The meat fell right off the bone just how I like it. The plantain was tender and not too sweet, but just sweet enough and the rice and peas tastes so good, especially combined with the tender potatoes and curry sauce. My co worker had the j*** chicken with the plantain and rice and peas. They give just about double portions for fair prices. You could eat half for lunch and save the rest for the next day or eat it for dinner. Trust me you want to savor every last bite, it's so good.. Needless to say we both devoured the food. I wish the wait time was a bit quicker, but as long as you call it in with about 20 minutes in advance it definitely wasn't as bad as some other places. The location is one of those hidden gems and I love that it is local and that I don't have to travel all the way to wilmington just to get a good Jamaican plate. The staff were really nice, I would highly recommend Mittie's!!

I did not find the food be either tasty or anywhere near authentic. It was super salty and the waitress got horribly offended when I asked if the cook was Jamaican. I mean you do call yourself a Jamaican restaurant... My husband is from the islands and I know the different foods of different islands so I was trying to decide what to have. For example in Jamaica you order beef Patty, it's very different from Dominica Patty. Anyway, I realize why my questions bother her, when she tells me not one soul, from staff, to cook, to management to owner, is Caribbean. None of them ever lived on island, even as a guest. So it's no wonder the food is so inauthentic. This feels like cultural appropriation to me.I think all these positive reviews are from church members (this place also operates as a church).

Sometimes they open sometimes they not it’s frustrating I mean at least post or have on voicemail days and times you will not be open for business it’s very unprofessional
