This place feels like a home away from home. The food was so delicious. I was not expecting the consistency with the food and how well it tasted. The spices were just right, and the steak was very tender and juicy (Bistek a lo Pobre). I stop by at any opportunity I get to get me some Pollos Tete. You won't be disappointed .
Kid-friendliness: Children loved the experience.

I got a 1/2 chicken, black beans and plantains. All delicious. The chicken was juicy and the sauces really set it off. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

When I write my reviews, i'm looking for more than just a tasty meal. The truth is, there's plenty of good food available around Jacksonville. What i'm looking for is things that set a restaurant apart from the competition. Things like value proposition, uniqueness, and an atmosphere you can be proud to support with your hard earned dollars. I am happy to report that Pollos Tete checks all these boxes, in addition to having some absolutely delicious food. A true Jacksonville hidden gem, you can find Pollos Tete located in an unassuming strip mall on Western Blvd, if you live around here, you may have even passed it hundreds of times without noticing it's there, and that's a real shame, because they deserve a lot more attention. On offer is authentic South American dishes with a Peruvian slant that is unique for the area, you wont find these dishes anywhere else. The ingredients are fresh, heavily seasoned to perfection, and clearly made with love and care. The Lomo Sandwich is absolutely mouthwatering, and will stick with you for hours if not days after you eat it, tempting you to come back for a second round. Their menu is full of hearty, healthy options like Rotiserrie chicken and stir fries which is also hard to find in a southern city with endless amounts of deep fried options. Value wise, you can walk out of here with a great lunch for 10 bucks, you're essentially paying fast food prices for authentic home cooked South American goodness. The owners/staff are also among the most friendly people you will meet in the industry, its immediately apparent that this is an establishment run by good people out of a passion for good food and good service and not just for profit. Personally, that's the type of attitude that will drive me to spend more and more money with them and feel great about it, and I hope my readers will do the same, you'd be doing yourself a favor. Give Pollo Tete a shot, you won't regret it.

Seem they use the same used oil to fry and cook. Food has that distinctive flavor and some burnt pieces specifically on the meats . Como Sudamericano totalmente decepcionado de la comida.

We were looking for something healthier but comfort food for this Panamanian at the same time. My husband had a torta, kids had 1/4 roasted chicken with fries and plaintains. You can see the steak I got in the pic. Everyone loved it, we were so glad to find this gem. Owners are from Bolivia, and the husband is a retired Marine. We love supporting local!
