Fantastic place! I do recommend the three meats plate (Ribs, Chicken and Carolina Pork with the collards and Mac n cheese! Delicious! Food was so good I had to taste my wife’s chicken fried steak and mash potatoes and it didn’t disappoint! Service made us feel like we were visiting our Auntie’s house, like we were family! Looking forward to visit again soon.
I can't believe I've lived in Jacksonville for 3 years and never went to Thig's before now. The waitress was super friendly and awesome and the food was AMAZING! The whole atmosphere was so warm and inviting. I will absolutely be going back. Frequently.

First visit but not the last.. Had some of the best brisket and Brunswick stew I've had in a long time, great service... Lots on the menu I'd like to try.. 👍 👍

Thigs was too expensive. It was just my husband and myself. It cost $20.00 just for drinks. The waitress charged for two ice teas and two coffees. Other places let you get refills even if it is a different drink. The Brunswick stew was spoiled. The manager and another waitress were talking badly about the other waitress.

The brisket was really tough and lacking flavor. It is very disappointing!

Don’t get the brisket. Piece of horse leather. Very little flavor. I’ve ate better brisket at gas stations in my travels. Very clean place. Nice atmosphere and the servers were very friendly. With all that said this place ain’t got no business cooking briskets.

We have never had a bad visit in all the years of coming here. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and welcoming as well. Do not miss out on this place and the hush puppies!

As someone who has lived in town for a few years I really do want to love this place but there are definitely some issues I’ve had in the past.
I will start by saying that the staff is always incredibly kind I have never had a rude interaction, however, I do feel that some of them need a little more training or there needs to be one more person working. I completely understand the struggles of being a small business but the waitresses are constantly running around and no one is consistently at the front and this leads to people waiting longer for pickup orders or the people dining in getting neglected for long periods of time. It’s not for a lack of effort as they always seem to be doing their best but it seems to be more of an issue each time I go. I like the food so I will usually do takeout orders now to avoid the service aspect.
The food is either 100% or 50%. Sometimes everything is hot, fresh and perfectly seasoned and other times it’s way over or underseasoned. I have had the fried pickles so salty one time I couldn’t finish them. I would always prefer to support local but these inconsistencies keep me from ordering more often. I also understand things change but the current Mac and cheese recipe is truly just not good. The original recipe when the new building first opened was by far the best, the second recipe was still pretty good but this one is bland, salty, watery and still somehow dry.
The location is perfect and the new building is nice and updated but still cozy and the desserts are ALWAYS AMAZING, and I want to reiterate that the staff is so so kind, but the issues I have noticed definitely take away from the experience ❤️

The food we got was WAY overcooked! I got smoked brisket which looked like it had been made a week ago!! He got fried chicken livers, and they were fried until they were powder! Sides had WAY too much pepper and salt in them!! But the service was good. There were too many people just hanging out at the cash register! Not doing much of anything!!! Could have been helping in other ways!!
Oh yes, the roof started leaking right above where I was sitting!!! All over me! It wasn't even raining out!!! They blamed it on rain but it wasn't raining at that time!!!! 😒

Thigs BBQ House never disappoints. Even though the service was a little slow during the lunch rush, that’s completely understandable with how busy they were. The food was excellent as always—hands down the best hush puppies I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a good meal. Definitely worth the visit every time.

Restaurantji Recommends
Been a customer for several years. Family and down home atmosphere. The servers are attentive and go the extra mile to ensure a positive experience. The tables and chairs are always spotless and sanitized. The food is tasty, prepared correctly and adequately portioned. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is DIVINE.
Been coming to Thig’s since 2009, and we moved away right around when the old building burned down. It’s gotten all done up now, but it’s still the same little gem at heart.
You come in and feel so welcomed, and then you get to eat a meal that feels like home. The brisket just falls apart in your mouth, the pulled pork’s perfect, fried chicken’s juicy… The hush puppies are crispy happiness. The banana pudding is a hug. Wash it all down with a sweet tea and you’re SET. We moved away from the area and make a 2-hour trek for this little treat!

Hometown BBQ stop on the way to Moorehead City and the barrier islands. I pays to get off the interstate.

I was in the mood fro BBQ so we decided to try Thigs. I will not be back again. The Brisket was dry thin and not tasty. The mac and chz was runny and bland.. Green beans awful. 🤮
Been eating there since it originally opened. Just as good now, than it was before the place burned down, and rebuilt! Although I miss the old, vs new built, atmosphere.
