This is Jef Eatery and Cafe the name change is why we are going here for the first time today. This place is very cute and clean. The servers were Calvin and Nan, who were both friendly and attentive, what more could you want? The wife's coffee got a little cold and they heated it up very quickly. She had the chicken & waffles which was very good and not too much both in amount and in price. I had a chicken Cesar Salad that was perfect. Our friend had the hot dog and fries and needless to say to say we all enjoyed our meals. I think this is a great place for lunch and I highly recommend you try it. Oh, they still have a great selection of ice cream.

Southern Scoops was previously known as the Dairy House and was always a beloved diner in town. I remember initially being nervous about the change in ownership, name, and look but I am delighted to say that they improved upon the already adored restaurant! The food, service, and atmosphere is the best it's ever been and my family will always come here for a good bite.

I moved here from Florida and took my son to get a quick lunch and ice cream. They greeted us when we came in. They immediately knew we had never been there before which left an impression that they remember every customer. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a small town. Very friendly and welcoming. The burgers are phenomenal!! The sweet tea was delicious, perfectly sweet and my son devoured his ice cream! They have so many choices of ice cream it’s a wonderland for kids. I would highly recommend stopping in. My son and I both loved it. The prices are fair as well.

I stopped in here a few weeks ago for lunch on my way through. I was really impressed with the timely and friendly service, and the food was fantastic. I had a pulled pork sandwich with slaw and a bisque-like, tomato based soup with gouda that was to die for. It was prepared very quickly, not much of a wait. It looked like a busy lunch spot with plenty of locals who obviously love the food and the great atmosphere. It's right off the highway for easy access if you're passing by, and I highly recommend it.... I absolutely love the vibe here as well.

The food is good and the folks are kind. Small, hometown atmosphere. My order had several items and I was disappointed to see my receipt didn’t match the prices on the menu. I understand the rising cost of everything, but please have menus to reflect what customers are being charged.

Great service and good quality, but there should be more quantity of food given the prices. It was quite expensive for the actual amount of food that was given.
Had a quick lunch. Needed to add a little more chicken salad to the sandwich. Staff was very friendly, but the young man needs a little more training on waiting tables. Had to ask for napkins and silverware.

We visited Southern Scoops when we were in West Jefferson visiting for a wedding. We always try to support the 'little guys' and not the big chain restaurants because we ourselves are a small business in SW Florida and realize the importance of the support. I've gotta tell ya, Southern Scoops and Sandwiches did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in the door we were met with friendly, smiling faces. I am handicapped and the greeter could not have been more accommodating. They have a great variety to choose from on their menu and I think an even greater menu for ice cream, milkshakes etc.Our food was served hot and was very good. The only negative I would say is that after eating I was too full to order any ice cream! Next time I'm in the area I'm starting with ice cream first! The owners came over and talked with us after we are and we're so sweet. Our whole experience from beginning to end was just lovely. They're a hard working couple living their dream and doing a great job if it!

Southern Scoops is the best place in the county for lunch and/or ice cream. The restaurant and bathroom are always clean. Not many places that keep their bathroom clean. The music is great, 50's/60's. Can't beat the menu selection, too. The food is delicious. And, well, Hersey's ice cream! Can't beat that! I would give them more stars if I could! Owners and staff are very nice and accommodating.
