Restaurantji's guide to Kenansville's top Mexican dining experiences.
“This is the best restaurant in Duplin County in my opinion . Every time I’ve went, the food has been fresh, affordable, delicious and definitely worth the money. I’ve never had a bad experience from the wait staff either or the owner who is super friendly any time he’s talked to me! The drinks are good as well. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone!“
“Me and my family enjoyed our meal. They had, the best hospitality. Also the best food of services was so excellent. The Waits are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. To enjoy with your family and friends. The food is so Delicious.“
“Stopped in for a quick bite to eat for a later lunch I had the carne asada and el pastor tacos and a side of rice I really liked the el pastor tacos so much flavor and the hot sauce was very good as well this is a hidden gem !Parking: Park where ya can, no restrictions“
“This cute little place has more authentic Mexican cuisine than most other places that claim to. We stuck with what most people know as "street tacos" and were not disappointed. We had five different fillings including shrimp and they were both delicious and reasonably-priced. An absolutely stunning find in the middle of Southern cooking and a must-eat for everyone!!!“
“Didn’t even realize there were tacos, I came in to buy cartons of cigarettes for a family member. Employees were very patient and kind men, willing to work with my payment issues and waited while I transferred money over to my card. They had exactly what I needed. The store is set up so beautifully, it is very nicely organized. Very clean as well.“
“I eat here almost everyday. Along with authentic and quality Hispanic food, they also serve American food like fries, hotdogs, and fresh pressed hamburgers, the last being my personal favorite. Their food is very well priced and if you call ahead, the transaction is super quick and smooth, and only requires you being at the window a few minutes. They can be very busy, attributed to the quality and price, so calling ahead is recommended!“
“Local lore claims that the original restaurant burned and that this one just recently reopened under the new name, Cactus J Restaurant. They don't have a website but found them on Facebook with a menu. Although I was unable to call them I decided to stop there anyway on my way to another restaurant. Surprise! It was open and I ordered fish tacos, regular tacos & street tacos. They were all yummy, especially the fish tacos...I think they might be the best ones I've had.“
