I really wanted this to be a good review and was very excited to have Del Taco in Kernersville, until I ate there. The service, the cost, and the atmosphere were disappointing, but the food tasted great!

Good first - Our burritos were delicious and the fries were great once we got warm fries. That's all of the good.

Bad -
1. The worst thing to happen to restaurants and grocery stores are self service kiosks. Del Taco requires customers to use the kiosk unless you are paying in cash. Nobody was even at the counter to answer questions or solve problems. They didn't even know that one of their kiosks were down. Human interaction is important, especially when serving the public. I hope they learn and change this soon.

2. It cost $40 for me, my wife, and my 3 year old son to eat lunch here. That is wild for this quality of fast food restaurant compared to other fast food places.

3. We ate inside the restaurant so we got to sit and look at the exposed ceiling and how the place was built. I uniquely look at this because I'm a contractor. To see the unorganized wiring, crooked roof trusses, and the exposed the plywood roof deck was not enjoyable and made me feel less confident in the quality of the restaurant chain.

4. Their menu doesn't say what's actually in the items so you have to rely on the small image of the item. This goes back to having to use a kiosk. You can't ask anyone what's in the menu item so it's really a guess of what comes in the burrito or enchilada.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant when compared to all of the other options up in Kernersville. The cost, bad service, and the atmosphere just aren't worth it.

Cold fries for 2nd straight time and no one answers the phone to help solve the problem. Definitely a good way to lose customers.

First time trying the food. The hubby and I got the el big amerimex and queso nachos. The hubby made a honest mistake and said sir to the order taker which I thought was a dude too with their deep voice. When she corrected him he was like I'm so sorry and we both was like our bad and thank-you ma'am. The lady was black with braids. She had a funky attitude at the window and was quiet when he was thanking her and she took the card to pay. Then she handed our drinks and went to the back. I said hope she don't try to do anything to our food because of an honest mistake. She came back with our food all of a sudden happy saying have a good night. Went home and all was good but near the middle of my burger it tasted like they poured a bunch of pepper on my burger and the hubby burger was very salty in the middle. He had to throw some of his burger away. That is very messed up and immature of her if she did something to our burgers because she mad someone made an honest mistake because she sound like bro man from the 5th floor. Cashier name Isabella on the receipt which I assume was her. She in the wrong line of work trifling like that. So beware if you made an honest mistake in calling someone with a deep voice sir. That's messed up. All good. She will reap what she sow. God sees all.

***Update*** Previous 3, now updated 4 Stars. The 1st order November 22nd 2025 and we went back December 13th, 2025 and reordered the same meal. Thankfully after filing the complaint guest services offered a nice voucher for that mishap. This time we noticed that lady was on cleaning duties and new people taking orders. The food was great and this time our burgers wasn't salty nor peppery. We actually got to taste it for how it was supposed to be minus trifling tampering. So we know that lady did tamper with our stuff and I'm glad she's not fixing anyone food or taking orders anymore with that evil spirit. I pray she change and let God heal her from whatever that is causing her to be ugly like that. Because somebody else would had let her had it. But thank God he got us and do way better in fighting our battles.

They were extremely busy, but that was expected with them just opening. The drive-thru line was long but moved quickly. I got the grilled chicken queso burrito and a strawberry lemonade. The lemonade was delicious, and the burrito was just okay. It wasn't bad, but I've had better. Customer service was excellent. I'll return but try something different.

**** UPDATE ****

I had to change my review due to inconsistency. I've tried to give this place a lot of chances, but it's always a complete letdown. Their chicken has a weird taste and texture, and the food is so BLAND, no exaggeration!!!

I went there on November 1st . The car ahead of me left out of the line before approaching the window to receive his food. When I got to the window, I was charged for his food and I informed the cashier that she rung me up for the wrong order with my debit card. I was issued a refund but never received the refund back on my card. I made sure that I kept my receipt and I called corporate and they sent me a $10 gift card which is less than the refund. I will not be ordering food from there again. Stop playing with people's money.

Del Taco is the absolute BEST!! Fair warning, Once you eat here, you'll rarely if ever go back to the *Other* Taco place. The food is just better here. I just wish there was one closer to me.

My son had a piece of plastic in his chicken burrito the size of a quarter. The employee behind the counter said it was a chicken bone and it's happened before. It looked nothing like a bone. She never offered to remake his burrito or refund us. Needless to say, he did not eat his burrito. The experience was disappointing. We live locally and wanted to love Del Taco. Employees and the food quality matter even at fast food restaurants.

This was the worst food experience I’ve had, everything was dry stale and flavorless they were out of all of the hot sauces, over half the drinks were out of syrup the staff was unhelpful at best
