J. Pepper's Southern Grille

Had to come write a review strictly for the tenders. Service and staff were great, but hot damn the tenders slapped me across the face with a rainbow a flavor.

Swung by here after hiking the mountain trails; the gf and I were craving some food and we like hitting up local joints in new areas. Chicken was wanted and chicken was delivered.

They must have diced up an angel because i died, said hello to my dog that passed away when i was 22, shook the hands of President Lincoln and then was gently laid to rest back in my outdoor chair with the spicy and delicious flavor of buffalo chicken tenders swirling in my mouth like a child on a merry-go-round. A perpetual cycle of joy that i did not want to end.

10/10. Make sure you ask them to toss the tenders in the buffalo sauce. It’ll blow your friggin socks off. Soft and savory chicken on the inside with a beautiful light crunch that comes and goes with each bite. I hope you all have an equally heavenly experience as I did. I’ll absolutely be back for those bad boys.

The food here has always been good. This time I tried the grilled salmon and it was very good. The glaze was nicely sweet and the shaved Brussels salad with dried cranberries and onion vinaigrette it was served with was perfect. My wife had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. She said it was excellent.
There were a couple of small complaints, but not enough to keep us from returning. First, I ordered a pint of Sam Adam's Oktoberfest and it was served at almost room temp in a warm glass and it was almost flat.
The service was overall excellent except for dessert. It took almost 20 minutes from ordering dessert until it was placed on our table.
Other than the 2 little problems everything was great and we will definitely be back.

I had the chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband had fried pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, and green beans. I liked what I had except for the potatoes which were kind of chunky, instead of mashed. My husband said his pork tenderloin was pretty salty. My daughter-in-law had the grilled meatloaf and she said it was really good. She also had the mashed potatoes and didn't care for them.

Our server, Nisha, was very nice but she seemed to be spread pretty thin. While she was taking our orders, she excused herself to go take care of a table of people that were leaving. At the end of our dinner, when we wanted to get our check, we couldn't find her. Then we saw her in the back rolling silverware in napkins at another table.

Very good, friendly table service. Food was ordinary, with a few ill-advised 'twists.' For example, the sweet potato fries (which were otherwise perfectly done) were tossed with sugar, making a cloyingly sweet mess. Brussels Sprouts were way under-done. Fried pork cutlets were okay but not moist, and the gravy was very dull. Shrimp and grits lost any shrimp flavor. My crabcake sandwich was very nice, perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned.
Overall, the food was 'good enough,' but not good enough to bring us back.

First time dining here for lunch loved everything from the food to service. Kids meal was served in a tray love this idea! Server was very attentive. Wait time on food was a little long but was worth the wait you can tell the kitchen takes pride in every plate that is sent out. This may be my new favorite dining spot, will definitely be back for dinner!

Service is great, food is average. Ordered a club sandwich. It was a bit on the dry side. Wife ordered a salad and she was satisfied with her meal
