J. Pepper's Southern Grille

Our waitress was wonderful and kind, but our food was disappointing. I found every part of the meal except the crab dip was either bland or drenched in vinegar based sauce (with vinegar overpowering all other flavors) or a large quantity of mayonnaise. The grit cakes lacked seasoning, though I did enjoy the texture. The spinach was cooked well, but only lightly salted so they were still very bland. These problems can be solved with a salt shaker or less heavy handed sauce mixtures, so it could have just been an off night.

My family loves J pepper’s. It has become a stable for us for Sunday lunch. Clean restaurant with a nice atmosphere. They’re chicken pot pie, crab cakes, and Brussels sprouts are delicious! There are several entrees here that I absolutely love. Have always had great service every time we go! Definitely a must if you live in Kernersville or the triad area.

Took almost 15 minutes for a server to wait on our table and the next day left my whole party with diarrhea.

Only two stars because the staff was wonderful. The food left much to be desired. The kids meals were good and offered a lot of food for the price. Everything was sticking to the table. I would not come back and would not recommend it.

My sister brought me here for LUNCH, and I could not believe the prices for what they serve, and the small portions!! $15 for chicken pot pie, that is very small!! If she hadn't been paying I would've left!! I don't think there was one thing under $12, even salad 🥗
Waitress was tacky and had piercings all over!
Would never go there again, way overpriced for what you get, and the tables were sticky and not clean!!

Nice looking restaurant, friendly staff, meal I had left alot to be desired. Wilted spinach was room temp, salmon was warm, thin and covered in a smoked glaze that smelled and tasted closer to ash tray than culinary smoked flavor. It was set in front of me and it took a minute to place that ash tray smoke smell was the glaze. The "ham" pieces on salmon were more like imitation flake bacon pieces from a bag. I rarely wrote a negative review but this was so bad I couldn't not say something. Tea was good.

Brussel sprouts were chopped, not whole, so that was disappointing to my wife.

Had the pot roast and it was awesome, better than my mother's!!!

Really enjoyed the food. Had the mac and cheese bites and acrabcake sandwich. Would recommend to anyone. Everything is made in house, was traveling but would return anytime.

Went for the fish and chips. It was out, so got the pot pie instead. Pot pie was ok. Not terrible but not exceptional either. It was small, which was a good thing, and loaded with chicken and almost no vegetables, which is bad imo. Some people may like it that way and if you are one of those types then give it a try. The flavor was good but I like lots of veggies in mine.

Service was pretty slow. Could be because it's a Friday but waiting 45 minutes for food is a bit too much.

Overall, it's a pass. I'd do it again with, hopefully, the dish I want and a shorter wait time.
