We had fresh mahi-mahi and shrimp tacos for lunch here. Simple and delicious. Just some jicama slaw, fresh pico and a cilantro sauce. No need to make fresh seafood fancy. It's done right here, and it speaks for itself. Several picnic tables out front so we could enjoy the great weather.

Choice of salsa with chips and queso infused with cumin was a great start. Then we jumped into the pork belly egg rolls ... !!! They're a must get. Dipping sauce is sweet and spicy. Exquisite. My mushroom and goat cheese quesadilla had the flavor I was looking for and I'll order it again. My sister didn't enjoy her soup/chili and without even asking, the server took it off our bill. She was easy-going and funny and helped make our visit delightful. I can't believe I haven't been eating here every time I come to the Duck area. Can't wait to visit again!

Sadly, the recent reviews bemoaning the current state of affairs here are true. I've been coming here for many years, and loved the food, the staff, the vibe — but those days appear to be gone. In my recent visit, the food ranged from mediocre to just awful. Everything is over salted, mahi-mahi was overcooked and tough, guacamole had a shovelful of salt in it, tacos are drenched in ice-cold sour cream. Service is friendly but lacking in attentiveness. We had to remind the staff that we had ordered drinks twenty minutes earlier. The drinks then came right out, so apparently they were just sitting on the bar. And the margarita was one of the worst I have ever tasted. Watery, with a thick, sloppy crust of salt. I truly hope management here can restore the quality of the food and cocktails, and the professionalism of the service. This place has a great heritage, and I would hate to see it destroyed.

We’ve been coming to Bad Bean Baja Grill for the last 4 or 5 years when we come to the area. The food is always great as is the service which is why we always come back! But I wanted to give special praise to the hostesses from our most recent visit this evening (8/19). A party came in and a woman from that part was being unnecessarily rude to the hostesses after not liking the table they were given. The hostess (whose name I didn’t get) was kind, patient, and calm while being spoken to so rudely. After their interaction I told the hostess how well she was doing and that the woman was being rude. The hostess was visibly upset and said it was only her second week on the job. I told her again that the woman was out of line and that she was doing her best. So just a reminder that kindness can go a long way, and there are much bigger things to worry about (like Hurricane Erin!) than a table at a busy restaurant.
