Barrier Island Bagels

You'll find some of the best bagels on the beach at Barrier Island Bagels. The bagels come in many varieties with many sandwich combos available. The shop has carryout and a small area for table service with breakfast items that go beyond bagels. This is a small restaurant. Bring a relaxed, resort attitude if you're visiting OBX in peak season because going anywhere that's popular may involve a line and a wait.

Food was very good . They serve more than bagels . Prices very reasonable . Friendly staff. Must visit . We had 11 people and infant in our group and they were able to accommodate us .

Normally, I like this place for takeout, but this was my first time dining in for breakfast and I didn’t enjoy it at all. The hostess was amazing, but I can’t say the same about the rest of the experience. I understand you can’t please everyone, but if you notice a customer is unhappy, the least you can do is try to make it right. And just to be clear, I’m not a bad tipper.

7/2025. Sooooo, upon leaving last time my I got A Jockey's Ridge Italian to-go. Then, Took it on a 3 hour trip to home-- i thoroughly enjoyed it the next day for lunch and it was un-freaking-believable! Been thinking about this place ever since. This morning brought everything full circle when we had the biggest omelet we had ever seen and the Ghost Ship. The omelet was stellar and the Ghost Ship is (as i mentioned in my last review) the best breakfast combo ever (if you love sausage gravy like i do)! Thanks BIB!!

7/2025(part b)Went back a few days later and got the ghost ship and a BLT w/egg...yep, got the Jockey Ridge Italian to-go. Just knowing that its in the fridge makes going back to work tomorrow a little more palatable 😉

In the midst of making 1000 bagels for the St Patrick's day parade, this place delivered the gooooods! Bagles were sooooo good, cream cheeses were great and the Ghost Ship(biscuits and sausage gravy) was the best I have ever had!!!!! The staff was amazing and the whole family was there helping and working together as a cohesive unit to make it all happen. Had to get some to-go for the ride home too... I will certainly be back next time I'm in town ☘️ 🍀

This place was horrible over priced out of 3 egg sandwiches that we ordered not one of them was correct for 32 dollars you'd expect the order to be right they were more interested in a birthday party that they were having instead of their customers

Highly recommend the French kiss bagel & owner approved sammich. Best bagels ! Amazing flavor! Dare I say the best I’ve ever had!!

The food was great the time I came. I have heard some complaints from others with reference to their food.
They’re just not as friendly as they should be. We are locals and it’s sad because if they think you’re not a local, they’re not too nice. We shouldn’t have to tell establishments that we are locals.
