We were so happy to be able to spend time in Nags Head for New Years Eve and to have dinner at the Black Pelican. Our server, Tristan, was exceptional and treated us like royalty. Our dinners were exceptional and the dessert yummy. Thanks for starting our 2026 on such an exceptional note.
Had a fantastic time dining with my family here including 2 small children. Pictured is the Phillys Pecan Crusted Mahi, it was delicious and the Mahi was cooked perfectly. I'd like to mention that our server Tatiana (Hopefully spelled correctly) was an absolute sweetheart and gave us the best service I've ever had at any restaurant. Will be coming back during our next trip to Kitty Hawk.
Sadly, this restaurant is slipping. It has been a mainstay for us in OBX for almost thirty years but the last two visits, especially or most recent earlier this week, has been subpar. Everything from our server's other lack of personality down to my platter. Especially for the price point, it just wasn't good.
