Ordered conch chowder a while back, to go. when I got to where we were eating it (4 quarts), found it watered down. called to complain and was told that was their recipe. I have eaten it enough to know what happened. I paid over 100 dollars for water. decor used to be nice, lots to look at, used to be a great place. no more. never again.

It's definitely nothing fancy, but if you are looking for laid back and want something easy this is the place for you. Food was pretty good, the only thing that wowed me was the Philly cheese steak egg rolls (very random), but nothing was bad. Service was good and it's a bar atmosphere. Overall while pretty decent I'm not sure I will be back.

Very nice experience with our large group! We called ahead and arrived early and everything worked out great! Staff was very pleasant and food was great. We have been vacationing in the OBX for 12 years now and this was the first time we dined at Fishbones. I'm thinking we will go back again.

My family and I loved it! It wasn't too fancy or pricey. The raw bar was pretty good, and my crab cake sandwich was awesome. The sauce for the coconut shrimp could've been a little sweeter and a little thicker, but I still thought it was decent.

Fishbones is SO much better than it's sister restaurant (Sunset Grille). Best shrimp in Duck & the staff are super friendly.

Great vibe. Friendly staff. Cool shirts for sale. Loved the clam chowder. My salad was just okay, but no complaints from anyone in my party. Didn't need a reservation even though we were a table of 9 plus a baby.

The place was super understaffed when we visited on Thursday evening. It took approx 35 mins for our larger party to be seated (we were ignored for the first 10 mins after arriving). Our waitress seemed to hate life. She looked at me like I had 8 heads when I requested straws for our drinks (but she automatically gave them to the table who sat down next to us) and coped an attitude when we asked for napkins and silverware to eat with (she had to go roll this up herself, apparently). The food was decent, although the nachos appetizer was a waste of money since we had no silverware or plates to eat with (I didn’t dare ask for plates — that prob would’ve sent our waitress over the edge!). Maybe we will return next year, maybe not.

The past several years we have eaten here and it was pretty good, but not even close today! Our food was terrible, the sodas were flat, and the server couldn’t have been more disinterested in being there. My daughter went to the restroom and the staff unlocked the door and walked in on her and said nothing. No apologies or anything! They knocked and she responded but I guess they didn’t hear or didn’t care. She wasn’t in there very long at all! Don’t think we will be returning next year!! It was a complete waste of money!!
