We walked into High Cotton on a day with a torrential downpour, the kind of weather where seafood just don’t sound right. You need the inviting warmth of a BBQ joint, so we headed over to high cotton.
Now we got there during their last hour of business for the day, and experience has taught me to temper my expectations when you’re there in the waning minutes before close.

Best bbq ive ever had in a very clean restaurant. Food was prepared perfectly, you could tell they took pride in it, absolutely hands down best I had on the outer banks in a 12 day stay of anything . My complements!!!!!!

We had a craving for BBQ, and decided to stop by this place to try it out. They have a good variety of offerings, with classics like pulled pork and smoked ribs. We've ordered their platters, and it came out quickly. Although the brisket and ribs were tasty, it was a bit dry to our liking.
