Shipwrecks Taphouse & Grill

I’m not the type of person to complain, but this was the worst restaurant I have been at in the Outer Banks. Service was horrible and we didn’t get half the food we ordered, napkins after we asked politely several times or drink refills. When we did get our fries for our sides they just brought a plate for us all to share instead of the 5 individual side servings (which, sadly, turned out to be the best part of our meal). We have been coming to OBX for years and understand that places get busy during peak season and we are very lenient about most things but this was just a horrible experience.

I’d give it zero stars if I could! Worst service ever! Waited 1/2 hour for outside seating when there were 3 high top tables available the entire time. While waiting, I saw a hostess seat friends w/o reservations before a family of 3. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in OBX - never again!

Very friendly staff and we're able to accommodate food allergies

Stopped by for a quick dinner after hanging at the beach all day. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, and our server was very friendly and helpful. They easily accommodated us with our pup on the upper deck. The shrimp tacos were delicious and the white corn topping was a unique add on. Great for a quick bite!

Dog friendly deck seating makes Shipwrecks a great option. Oh, the food is delicious too! The staff is great and friendly.

Best fried shrimp. Rockfish, when available, is prepared perfectly. You should go today!

What an amazing experience! I walked in wearing a scooby doo sweatshirt and immediately one of the kitchen staff had someone bring me a scooby doo sticker. We felt like family and it was our first visit. Food was great, service was great, atmosphere was amazing! Music wasn’t too loud, the games were on and everyone was in great spirits. Food and drink selection is pretty good. Definitely recommend stopping in if you get a chance.

Super friendly but it seems like the staff is micro managed.. if you’re stressing them out please.. relax. The service was great! Staff are great but for the price the food was really bad.. 14 dollars for two egg rolls is a bit ridiculous. We couldn’t even find the duck in ours lol! We also had the french dip, it was so salty we couldn’t dip it! I wish we had got better food for a better price across the street.

Waitress was great! Receipt says her name was Celia. Idk, she had cute knee socks. Give her a raise with that automatic 3% service fee. We were using cash.
The crab cake was lacking. Yes, I ate it anyway. I dont think a crab even walked thru it. Maybe marylanders have high standards for crab cakes.
4 stars for the waitress. She was getting 5 before she rushed us to clear out. Idk for trivia or karaoke, some event?
1 star for the crabcake, our other meal was OK.
2 star for atmosphere. Owner opened the doors as soon as we were seated. Unnecessary, just let in flies and road noise.
