Very disappointing. We are here before and loved it. This time the chicken pot pie was watery and bland. My husband’s fried oysters were over breaded and overcooked. My daughter’s pasta sauce tasted like it was from a can and the noodles were overcooked. The cornbread was amazing.

Great food and service! Tommy Karole, the owner, has always delivered the highest standard in food and service in all of his restaurants. The Pony and the Boat is no exception. The menu has a wide variety of choices from terrific seafood to delicious roast beef. Always a favorite place to dine. Highly recommend!

The food was excellent but pricy. Some of the dishes like the crabmeat stuffed shrimp were excellent except for the price. 5 shrimp for $32. I was still hungry!
Been a while since I've reviewed on Yelp but The Pony and the Boat is a five star standout open year round in Kitty Hawk. Our server Beth greeted us warmly as soon as we were seated and brought drink orders at once. The six of us ordered a variety of dishes, each served hot and delicious--prime rib, chicken pot pie, Mac and cheese, seafood pasta, pot roast and crab stuffed shrimp. Four boxes to go so the portions are ample. For dessert two shared orders of the raspberry white chocolate mousse. We don't get to OBX as much as we used to, but from now on every time will include dinner or Sunday brunch at the Pony--named, of course after the great Lyle Lovett song.

We eat here regularly and are never disappointed! The food is fresh and presented beautifully with perfect combinations. Barry at the bar and is always knowledgeable and fun! For New Year’s Eve the menu was diverse and showcased local seafood. The Brussels sprouts are always a favorite and the kale salad is delightful with roasted red peppers and apricots! Definitely put it on your list!

From the moment that we walked in, we were enchanted by this restaurant. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas.The ambience was very festive.We were greeted by the bartender, who informed us the hostess would be there to seat us shortly.We were here in December, so we were seated immediately.Karen, our server was very courteous and efficient. She made sure that what we ordered was served to our expectations.The entrees were a bit expensive. But the quality of our food was beyond amazing. Portion size was very generous.My son and I had the seafood Pasta.It had generous amounts of shrimp, scallops, and crabmeat in it. Highly recommend it. It's definitely a dining experience-- not just a restaurant.
