Finally got to try this spot out and omg it was AMAZING! The space is beautiful, the food was SO good, and our server james was great too. 10/10 would recommend for any date night or special occasion. We will be back!

My husband, daughter and I made Valentine’s reservations for dinner. Apart from the disorganization, the under-staffing, the over an hour wait time for our meals and the inedibly cold steaks that were served…I’m most disappointed and disgusted with the way management and more specifically, the owner, Christopher, treated my husband and our server whose name I failed to get.
When we finally received our meals, the meats were cold to the touch, and the shrimp that I ordered was failed to have been brought out at all. We told our server we are unable to eat our meals and we would like to pay for the food and drinks we did consume and be on our way. Our server (who was clearly over seated and stressed) returned and told us the owner said we would be paying for everything and to give us our ticket as is. Why didn’t the owner come to our table and speak to us directly? Why was nothing done to let us know our disappointment was heard and understood?
We were taken aback and my husband asked to speak to the owner himself. The owner did not come to our table, my husband had to get up and walk to him. All the owner said to him was, “You ordered the food, you aren’t leaving until you pay for it.” Absolutely no apology or remorse for the terrible evening they gave us.
We paid $300+ for 2 cocktails, 2 cups of soup and a side Caesar salad because our main dishes were unsafe to consume and were given the worst customer service I have ever had in my life.
My apologies to our server and the hosting staff; who despite terrible leadership, did their best.

First time dining at the Depot and it did not disappoint! I cannot say enough great things about the service, the atmosphere and the food. It was all top notch. Our server, James was fantastic. He was very attentive, always checking on us (and making sure the kids had what they needed) and very knowledgeable about the menu. The beet salad was 10/10! We are already looking forward to going back!

After much anticipation and excitement, we recently had dinner at Depot on First. The food we ordered was very good and we were impressed with their extensive bourbon offerings.
I do believe they are going through growing pains, though. We had a reservation in one of the rooms, but when we arrived we were told we had to sit at the bar if we planned to have dinner, as a large party had taken the space where we were supposed to be seated. No other option was given. After I told the host (male, 20s) that the bar was not acceptable as we had driven a distance to dine with them, a hostess approached us and told us that a table in the main area would be available in about 30 minutes, and that we could either wait in the foyer area or at the bar. She was more pleasant than the other host and also offered an apology for the inconvenience.
While sitting at the bar, a few drink options were sold out. After waiting over an hour, we were seated at our table. Unfortunately, the chicken entree that I really wanted was sold out, along with another entree. My excitement turned to disappointment.
I must say the server was extremely pleasant and we tipped her well above 20%. Since we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, we will be going again - but we will wait several months before returning to give them time to work out the kinks. The 4 stars represent our overall experience.

What a wonderful place to have a Christmas brunch! Food and service was fantastic. Decor was stunning. Everything was delicious, from the bourbon beef, Cajun lemon shrimp, bang bang salmon, eggs, sausage, bacon, to the fresh fruit, danishes and frosted brownies. The 35 minute drive from home was worth every bite. Meeting Chef Kevin & manager Steve, and our server Bryanna-was a pleasure. Highly recommend the Depot for an outstanding culinary experience! A delightful Sunday brunch! Monica took excellent care of us throughout the meal. The coffee was excellent, and our cups were never empty. The brunch buffet was spectacular. The food was all fresh and delicious. The highlights included the fried chicken (bone-in and boneless), the bourbon glazed beef and the sausage pepper gravy. Chef Kevin made great food and was super friendly. We had one diner with a food allergy and Chef Kevin did an excellent job making sure she knew what she could safely eat, and even made a modification to a dish to add to her choices.
Dietary restrictions: We had one diner with us with a gluten allergy. Monica was very knowledgeable about the options available on the buffet. Chef Kevin was willing and able to modify a dish to exclude the gluten. It was really great to feel like the allergy was taken seriously and treat with kindness.

I couldn't possibly pick what was best, between the bourbon beef, the Cajun/lemon shrimp, bang bang salmon, eggs, bacon, sausage, danishes and fresh fruit, it was all a culinary blur of deliciousness. Our server, Bryanna was attentive and took good care of us. It was a pleasure meeting Chef Kevin, and manager Steve. The Christmas decor and warm, inviting ambience was perfect for our Christmas brunch. This exceeded our expectations and although it was a 35 minute drive from home, it was worth ever bite!! I highly recommend the Depot on First, it's exceptional!!

My wife and I just recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and chose The Depot on First for dinner. This was one of the best restaurants we have eaten at in a very long time. The staff was amazing, food was fantastic and the inside of this place is really beautiful.
The duck confit carbonara was so good and the crispy fried pork belly was another stand out.

SO worth the drive from Raleigh. This is officially in our top 3 restaurants in Wake County. Our serve Brooke was amazing, the Christmas decorations were beautiful and the food is top notch. Everything we had was delicious but this burnt Carmel Apple cheesecake was the star for us. It tastes even better than it looks. I cannot wait to come back!

One of our new favorite restaurants since moving to Raleigh from Boston! All the food we’ve tried at The Depot has been delicious and impressive! Tonight we had the duck confit carbonara and buffalo chicken pasta and I raved about the food the entire drive home. Also - their chocolate creme brûlée is heavenly!
