We went for Mother's Day Brunch. Food was excellent. Deviled eggs were great, salad bar was fresh, pork loin and shrimp were delicious, and the best potatoes au gratin ever! Looking forward to seeing what they have for Father's Day.
Food was always delicious and the staff was always friendly. Great service for our group of ladies. Thank you!
Top location but almost no service provided. Vegetarians best to avoid this hotel as there are no options other than bread for you. The first day there was yoghurt, cut fruits and fried potatoes. From Day 2 none of this was there!!!! On being enquired was told that “we’ve runout!!!”………..so please replenish! Ain’t such a difficult task! Even ketchup for Gods sake! Further, there is no turn down service offered. So please be prepared to keep your trash outside yourself and be prepared to fetch fresh towels from the reception. These are basic facilities and not luxury by any standards. I mean one is prepared for no bell hop to take your bags to the room but basic cleaning over a 3-4 day stay is not much to ask for?
Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing accommodation. The views are beautiful and the hotel is very clean and quiet. A large area with seating and a pleasant fireplace makes a delightful place to meet family and friends.. Across the way is a coffee shop and gift shop
The good news is the the staff was nice, the common areas are well done and well maintained, and the coffee was great (although only available in the lobby from 6-9am and the dining room (7-9am). That's it for the "nice things." The guest rooms are uniformly small, rundown, and poorly lit (increasing their dingness). The beds (we had two double beds in ours, as do most rooms) took up most of the room and needed the mattresses replaced or at least rotated. It was difficult to not roll off onto the floor. The bathroom has only the toilet and bathtub/shower. The bathroom exhaust didn't work. The vanity and sink are in the room. Limited number of plugs in the room. There was "no maid service" despite that fact that we were here for 10 days. There was a system for exchanging towels, but nothing for TP or coffee (I raided the maid's cart). The combination air conditioner and heater worked intermittenly, but only if you monkeyed around with the thermostat, and when I was able to get it to work, it would only run until it shut off. To get it to start up, you had to monkey around with the thermostat. This made for some extra chilly mornings. I reported problem to front desk. Nice people, but nothing happened. The sheer curtains in the room's windows are so old they had sun bleached badly and had 3 rotted tears, each 1 to 2 feet long (and this was on the north side of the hotel, away from the sun!). Breakfast (included with most stays) is hit or miss. The dining room is only open for breakfast from 7-9am and is self-serve from a buffet steam table. the breakfast quality depends on whether there is a large group holding a conference/convention. If there are a lot of people in residence, it is fine. If there isn't a group in residence, breakfast isn't good ... to the point of the steam table not being turned on and the food being cold by 730am. The breakfast selection without a conference/convention in residence is **very** limited. Another reviewer suggested tearing the entore hotel down and rebuilding. I think that's a little drastic. Gutting and replacing all the rooms and upgrading the dinng facility is all this place needs. I doubt we will ever stay here in the future. There are too many other choices in the nearby towns.
This was the perfect location with a Lake view. Our room was on the 5 th floor (1510). We were 30 min. From Bryson City and the Smoky Mountain Train Depot. The Fall colors were amazing around the Lake and the walking trail around the Lake was fun and beautiful. There was a gas fireplace in the common area with comfortable rock chairs everywhere. The gift shop across the street had the best strawberry smoothie. The rooms had adequate space and the beds were comfortable.
Clean hotel with beautiful lake view. The only thing I wished they had is some restaurants in the area for dinner. We had to drive to a nearby town for dinner. This hotel seems to be a religious center but I didn’t feel any different from other hotel. The staffs are very nice. Good hot breakfast, bacon, sausage, waffle, French toast, coffee
We loved this place ! Everything about it. Views are breathtaking! from everywhere. Staff are friendly, warm, knowledgeable about everything. Lots to do.Great location. Our room was great, and clean . We didn’t get one with lake view this time. Has refrigerator. The free Breakfast buffet is great . We have already booked our next stay !
Salvation Army was here for a Bible Conference think I ate more this week than I have all year long thanks a lot food was great people was great it was nice think I'm come back next year with my family they would love this
I really don’t understand the complaints of some of the other reviewers about this hotel. It is really clean, the room is comfortable, everything works as it should, the bed and sofa are comfortable, the air is cold, the Wi-Fi is strong and works well, the staff is extra friendly and helpful, the room is quiet even though the hotel is full, and the view of the lake and the mountain backdrop is spectacular. Is this an older hotel that has been remodeled? Sure it is. So what, it’s nice and clean. It is a good place to stay while you visit Waynesville, Maggie Valley, GSMNP, or even Asheville. Or, you could just stay right here. There’s plenty to do right around this lake.

Beautiful, lots of character, and absolutely loved the flowers. Would like a microwave in room and better water pressure. The breakfast was great. Location good. There were spider webs everywhere outside. Nice place to stay. Very family oriented.
Went there for valentine's day. The couples' special was $60 for only ok food The waitress was very offstandish with us, and instead of the tiramisu that we ordered for dessert we received a piece of Edward's chocolate pie. It was not worth the money.
The Terrace at Lake Junaluska is nice. If I were traveling on business, I would LOVE to stay in a place like this! But it's not perfect. PROS: 1. The view of the lake from many places in the hotel is spectacular. 2. It's quiet! At least, it was for our stay. 3. The employees are very nice. 4. There is a huge, gorgeous room on the 2nd floor that feels like a giant living room. 5. The hotel is very clean. 6. Breakfast is very good for a hotel breakfast. (I gotta say, I would not want to pay $14 - the going rate for walk-ups - for that breakfast. It's not THAT good.) CONS: 1. It feels old. Obviously, it has been cared for. But it still feels old. 2. The bed was very uncomfortable. 3. On the bed was a very slick sheet and a thick, heavy duvet. I would wake up cold, pull the duvet up, wake up too hot an hour later, push the duvet away, then repeat. Many hotels put a conventional light-weight blanket in each room. Not The Terrace! 4. Heating and air unit in our room was ... strange. It didn't work the way you'd expect. 5. Parking options are not great. The hotel sits on a hillside. Most parking is situated where you have to hike up and down hill.
Visited Saturday October 9 at 8:50 am. My wife has a small poodle service dog wich has very visible identifiable markings. Upon arrival the waitress Kayden stated that we would have to sit outside because of the dog and some people are allergic to dogs. My wife stated that it was a service dog and she was in violation of ADA. She still stated that we would have to sit outside. My wife wanted to speak to a manager. She stated that there was no manager to speak to.. Could not find anyone to speak to regarding this matter. They advertise breakfast buffet is open until 9. Buffet had little to no food. Nothing was ever replaced.. The biscuits that were left were like hockey pucks.. They reallyneed to maintain bar so individuals can get what they pay for. Very disappointed with the food and their lack of knowledge in the ADA requirements. This place needs to do some employee training. Maybe legal action would open their eyes.
Clean and fresh smelling room, a little smaller than normal to include the bathroom. No microwave in the rooms, had to go downstairs to the business office to heat up food. The breakfast especially the eggs was terrible.
