Well, let's just say that the one older waitress, of the 2 working, must not have been having a good day, bless her heart, is all I can say. She would slam our drinks down, and huff if we needed to add something to our tab. We needed to split our bill and she kept referring to the others in our party as "the other people". She really is having a bad day, and we will pray for comfort and understanding. Ps. The Reuben was good, the chicken overcooked. If you can forgive the attitude, it's an okay place to eat.

Great food and service. Bridge work on the parkway put it a little out of the way but the drive was worth it. Highly recommend. Was camping so I can't review the hotel only the food.
Food & drinks: Super. I had the Cowboy Combo and would do it again.
Excellent.

We just came here to eat While on a Day trip And the food was good was fast to get there and was reasonable priced it was great but the motel (JUST BASED ON LOOKS)seems to be a little Run down but honestly it was good!
Freeborne's has reputation as a "biker bar", which isn't a bad thing as our motorcycle group stopped there for lunch. We found that the setting just above the Blue Ridge Parkway was very scenic. The atmosphere was what you would expect of a biker bar, a little dingy, but a rather very nice bar area. The service was great as quickly sized us up in knowing that we would want separate bills. The food was really good and reasonably priced. The place had a good crowd with a lot of locals, so that's a good sign of repeat business.
I look forward to returning soon and would recommend if you are in the area, make this a destination for lunch.

Food is great. Good place to hang out on weekends with fellow bikers, kayakers, bicyclist, and parkway tourist
I ate at the restaurant. The service was exceptional as she was very friendly and helpful with information about the area and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The food was excellent. I had chicken covered with a nice sauce and mushrooms. The sides were excellent as well. It is a really interesting location and has great atmosphere. I sat and relaxed on the front porch for a little bit while a storm passed. It is a great place for motorcyclists to stop and eat or stay overnight at the hotel portion.
