Our experience left a bad impression.. We had been hiking, called to place an order so we could pick up & eat at picnic area across the road & we were Told they were TOO BUSY TO TAKE OUR ORDER!! OMG We were SHOCKED. This is a restaurant right??? We were like right across the street. I think That rude Response from that lady left a BAD TASTE IN OUR MOUTH. Will Not Try this place again. We are still shaking our heads.. No Time for customers!!
They offer a gluten free bun. It crumbles easily but still made for a yummy blackened trout sandwich. The lemonade was not sweet, just how I like it.

Waited 20 minutes, thought our food was about to come out and they came to tell us they had ran out of half the food we ordered. So we ordered something else then they came out like 10 minutes later to say they had run out of two more items we ordered. Hate to see what happens when they reopen the parkway from the west. Great waiter but the food was pretty mediocre and obviously a lack of communication in there. Do yourself a favor and bring a picnic lunch from Sparta to eat at one of the picnic areas nearby.

Nice historic place with a good view. Food and service was great. It was busy at the time because of live music, but they were on top of things.

I'm not sure they are open. We went midweek and it was closed around 3 pm. Not a car in the lot. It looked like it had been closed for quite some time. The chimney was taped over. It looked like it was some sort of seasonal closure.

Always an awesome experience. Food is great and the staff is very friendly.
This place has absolutely delicious food, great service and scenic views. The parkway is open from hwy 21 to The Bluffs and Doughton Park. Unfortunately Google has been updated to reflect that.

I was surprised how great the menu was. I had blackened trout, rice pilaf, side salad and a biscuit. It was so good. It’s in a beautiful area of the parkway. You can eat inside or outside.

We came up today with our Tarheel MINI club. We had approximately 15 cars and 25 people. I had called Friday to let’em know we were coming as a simple heads up. 1/2 our party wanted to sit outside and the rest inside. The staff couldn’t have been more gracious, timely, organized, or attentive to our large group. We were in and out right at an hour. Prices were fair and the pimento cheese dip and chicken and dumplings I had were delicious. I’ve been dreaming of coming here for a long time. We are SO HAPPY to see this place up and running and thriving even with the BRP detour going the other way now. Our club has donated to and supporters of the BlueRidge Parkway Foundation and we are happy to support their causes in places like this.
