This was my second experience with Locals Tavern. Neither experience was great, but today (my second) was completely unacceptable. They don't even honor the specials on their website or on the specials card on the table. I don't blame the waitress helping us as I felt like she was just a messenger of a poorly managed business. My group went there for the specials, ordered, and sat there for 30 minutes before being told they won't honor their special. I will not return and it's better for everyone to just avoid Locals Taven in Leland, NC.

Another great local restaurant found in Leland! Their food is to die for! We had fried mushrooms and onion rings as appetizers and I can honestly say we have never had better! Our server held our entree order until we were ready without being asked. Don't you hate it when the food comes too soon? Great job, peeps! Then, the burgers were fantastic! Im so thankful we came hungry, but we still brought home leftovers. I also noticed just about everyone leaves with leftovers. Their portion sizes satisfy the biggest eaters. Eat at the Locals Tavern because I promise you won't be disappointed.

I’m not sure how great this place “use” to be, but it’s not great now. Filthy, food covered bar, waiting 15 minutes for one of the two bartenders, to ask if I wanted a drink. It’s worth the trip over the bridge to not have to come back here.

July 2025 - fantastic food, really good entertainment on a Saturday night Donna and the bathrooms smell fresh and clean so I got to give this place a five star. I can't wait to see what happens when they finish the renovations and the plastic wrap is removed. Unlike years ago this place now brings in a very happy crowd. It has been renovated since last we went. However there's something wrong with the bathrooms, they reek of sewage. Something needs to be done about that! The TVs are playing varieties of sports which is nice was proficient and they didn't give us our bill until after they cleared the plates so that's good. Not too much in the way of friendliness, but the food was good. Cooked correctly and good greasy bar food. There is still some construction going on in the back room but I'm sure it'll be done soon. The music on the PA system was terrible, just horrible tone deaf I don't know if it was Disney or what squeaky girl music and then country and I don't mean good country I mean the find a country that Charlie Rich would spit his whiskey out at. LOL

This place used to be great....USED TO. Bring back the pool tables, go back to the old bar staff, stop hiring literal children to work behind the bar, and for the love of god somebody PLEASE tell that old lady that's ALWAYS sitting at the corner of the bar that we can all hear her talking shit about all of the customers and the staff. Maybe worry more about the putrid smell and swarm of flies terrorizing the place. Won't be back until things change.

Ugh. We used to LOVE this place, it's such a shame that it's gone so down hill. Let me start by saying *most* of the bartenders are incredible and the ONLY reason we have returned in recent weeks, specifically Amber, Mike, and Mikaela. When we moved here last year, they were what made Local's our favorite spot, and continue to make our visits enjoyable.
However, food has gone down hill, and the atmosphere/vibe of the place has severely plummeted. The flies are atrocious, we couldn't even finish our wings and had to ask for boxes to finish them at home. Removing the pool tables was a terrible decision on their part, and we are hoping after the renovations they will be returning. If not, we probably will not be. The older bartender with the short hair is not even remotely friendly, to customers or the other staff....in front of customers. It just seems like there are a lot of people on staff buzzing around, yet only a few are actually working hard. Again, such a shame.

Love coming here! The food is always good especially the wings. A big enough menu for everyone to be satisfied. They have a shaded outdoor area, an indoor bar, and billiards.

Went Saturday with friends to eat and listen to the band. Make sure to make a reservation. We did not and sat at the bar, then got a bar table. Service after that was terrible. Yes it was busy, but we waited 40 minutes before seeing a server. Philly Cheesesteak was mediocre at best though the frips were good.

Laid back establishment with cold drinks and great food. Plenty of options to choose from. Don't forget to save room for dessert. Yummm!!

Google Maps might take you to the wrong side of the building, but once you find the entrance, it will be worth it. Great food, very friendly staff. Current renovation/expansion (May 2025) does Not affect the bar or dining area.
