This is a great spot for some southern home cooked food. They have burgers, sandwiches and salads on the menu too. Our meal was delicious. Homey atmosphere and friendly staff.

I was part of a group of 20 or so adults and kids. The food was great but I don't think the staff wasn't ready for such a large group even after an advanced notice. The wait staff was ok but could use improvement. I would still go good a try it again in a smaller group.

This is the local favorite, particularly known for their all day breakfast menu. If you're looking for gourmet, keep on driving. Want a good meal at a fair price with generous portions? Come set a spell.

Basic diner, basic food. Friendly staff.
If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. If you aren't a local I wouldnt recommend going here. My parents came to visit for a vacation and decided on High Rock Lake. They got a few good recommendations from somebody that is a local and this was one of them so we decided to go for lunch. My parents had a couple questions about how some of the items were cooked and I don't know if they didn't like us asking how a couple things were cooked or didn't care because we weren't locals. (My dad asked if there was pork in the green beans and the pintos because it makes him sick and he can't eat it.) My dad got a steak, and 8oz ribeye, that he asked to be cooked medium. It was an incredibly thin piece of steak, not even a half inch thick, and it came out well done and one section was almost burnt. The cabbage wasn't supposed to have any pork in it, but it started to upset his stomach so he didnt finish eating it, or his steak. I originally thought about getting a hamburger but decided to get a breakfast option since they promote they serve breakfast all day. I got the country fried steak w gravy, eggs, hash browns, and biscuit. After placing the order I was told they were put of biscuits and they could give me toast. I was disappointed but agreed. My moms food was fine. They brought us our food and had to still bring my dad one of his veggie sides and my toast and when they brought his veggie they put the check on the table and walked off. I didnt even notice until they had left the toast that my country fried steak had sausage gravy on it. I've not ever had a place put sausage gravy on country fried steak before, and that might just be something they do. But they offer a white gravy for biscuits and gravy so I assumed it would be a white gravy on the steak. (I know what they say about assuming but she didnt ask if i wanted white gravy or if sausage gravy was ok). My dad asked if he could have a bite of my steak but I told him the gravy had sausage in it so he couldn't eat it. I ended up scraping off the gravy and eating the steak, which was underseasoned. Nobody asked if everything was OK, looked good, etc. And not once did anybody come back to the table to check on us. Meanwhile, they were going around to the locals and asking how the food was, checking if they needed a refill on their drinks, chatting, etc. We were completely ignored. My mom had a reuben sandwich and she only ate half and she ended up having to go up to the area you pay to ask for a to go box since nobody ever came back to our table. When we got up to leave everybody kept looking at us and it felt like we were in the twilight zone. Definitely won't ever go back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

Ordered a medium rare ribeye steak and it was extra crispy on one end and extra well done for the rest of the steak. Gave us our food and bill and walked off. No service after that. They didn't want outsiders in their restaurant, so I won't be going back while I'm here for the next eight days or ever. My daughter ordered a country fried steak with gravy, eggs, and biscuit. Didn't have a biscuit and put sausage gravy on a country fried steak. Not ever had anything but white gravy on a country fried steak before in about 7 other states.

Don’t come on Sunday for lunch. Even though only moderately busy we had to ASK for someone to take our order, ASK for drinks to be brought to our table and now we’ve been waiting 20 minutes for the food. Others around us served even though they came after us. Getting ready to leave and not return.

We come every Sunday after church and this Sunday we ate filet catfish and it was so salty and overcooked that we couldn't eat it. We have been eating your catfish for years and it was delicious. But not anymore. Do you have a new cook ? If so you need to address this.
