It's a tradition. Family run, and iconic to the area. Famous for their *tasty* Western style Carolina BBQ, made with pork shoulders and cooked slow over wooden coals. Super casual dining, family oriented. Very reasonable pricing.

Completely disgusted by the flies that were all over this restaurant. The men’s bathroom was infested with flies. You open the men’s bathroom door and flies come out. There are tables right next to the bathroom where flies are landing on peoples food. As I left the bathroom the people in the booth/table next to the bathroom were swatting flies off their food. Completely disgusting. We got our food and had to fight the flies. Our table was in the far room away from the bathrooms. We told our server about the flies and left the restaurant. Barely touched our food. Heard good things about the food but they obviously don’t care about sanitation. There were dead flies all over the bathroom floor and were swarming all over the drain, sink, mirror, trash can, etc. I hope they get this problem fixed. The beans tasted like they were out of a can. No flavor. My wife’s pork was dry as a bone. My pork was dripping wet?? You want really good barbecue, do not go to this place. Skylight Inn has real N.C. BBQ!
