I got the fajitas. My wife got the nachos,
The fajitas came with three 4-inch corn tortillas, and the meat and veggies were DRY with no seasoning. The nachos weren't vary flavorful either. The service was great! There were only 5 tables in the joint. The menu was on a daily basis, That day it was fajitas or nachos. We did get the spinach and that was the only thing that add a flavor.
TLDR: The food is good humble food. Very limited menu. Local ingredients. Friendly staff.
The Humble Plate lives up to its name. The food was good, simple, humble cooking. This is not the place where you'll get a 5 star flambe filet mignon with whipped potatoes, but you will get a solid, yummy plate of food. We went on a Thursday and I got the Thursday steak fajitas special. My partner got the local hamburger with bacon + kale on the side.
The fajitas: I ordered without onion only because I don't like them and the chef was so kind to come and ask if I was allergic as the side of rice has onion in it as well. I also added a side of sour cream and nacho cheese as they don't normally come with the fajitas. The steak was cubed and cooked medium well to well. It was still moist and not chewy. The green peppers had the perfect amount of bite and char to be delicious. The rice was lacking on salt and a little underdone (a few of the pieces had a little crunch) but mixing in the nacho cheese and all the juice from the peppers and beef made it pretty tasty. Corn tortillas were freshly grilled. 8.5/10
The burger according to my partner was solid but nothing to write home about. The bacon and kale he got on the side was in desperate need of salt and could use a splash of acid (lemon, apple cider vinegar, or red wine vinegar would be awesome). He wished fresh cut fries were an option. 7.9/10
The menu is VERY limited with a new special each day so plan accordingly and look up what's happening each day.
I finished the meal with some chocolate gelato which was great.
The staff was highly attentive and friendly. There were only like 6 tables in the whole place and we were the only 2 eating in which I'm sure helped. There was a steady stream of to go door dash orders though.
Excellent service & high quality food. We had the chicken nachos and a Chicken strawberry & walnut salad... chefs kiss!
I have food allergies (cabbage was in question in salad mix) and they went out of their way to assist me.
ALSO, the food is so fresh! I highly recommend this place!!
My husband and I recently discovered this place. Amazing food with daily specials. They keep to a small menu, but so far, everything has been scrumptious. I recommend pulling up the menu for specials.
Fresh and delicious food!!
Rude and ignorant, very cocky. Food is horrible and it smells like sewage in there.seen roaches in the bathroom
I came in Monday and got the strawberry salad and it was delicious. Came back today and ordered the burger. Unfortunately, I think the humble plate needs to be humbled. We were only customers in restaurant and we sat where I could see the cook through his door at his kitchen. Never saw him cook the burger, but I did hear the microwave door shut so I do believe I had a burger that was reheated today and that’s unfortunate how the waitress sold me on it coming from a fresh farm nearby Unfortunately it wasn’t fresh wanted to say something but my wife did not want me to. Didn’t taste fresh and was lukewarm. I promise I saw you never cook that hamburger. I watched you the entire time. And fresh is definitely not microwaving soup, disgusting!!
Excellent service, food is fresh and very friendly staff 😊
What a find! This place exists in a field of fast food restaurants and chains, but offers home-cooked, delicious meals. There are many healthy options on the menu and some comfort food too. I plan to return any time I'm in town. The lunch lemon chicken and orzo special was so good, and I returned the next week just for the special!

Been back twice! Love it! Seasonally available foods properly prepared and sourced locally. Great staff and kind owner.

I ordered the lemon chicken with spinach and a creamy orzo. The chicken was pounded very thin therefore, it was overcooked. The orzo was cooked nicely but lacking flavor. And there was no spinach. Maybe one baby leaf on the chicken. I was disappointed because the description in the menu made it sound delicious. Maybe if they didn't pound their chicken so thin it won't get overcooked. Also, the lack of spinach which was in the menu description was disappointing as well. The orzo was good but lacked flavor.

I would share a photo but my 4 year old ate all of my cheeseburger before I could. 😂 It’s that good. We will absolutely be back. Our table ordered zoupa, a burger, a loaded baked potato with grilled chicken and a BLT. everything was fantastic. Might just be our new lunch spot?!?
