It is great to have such a nice restaurant in a small town, the atmosphere was perfect for our date night, you can be fancy or casual. The fillet was the best I have ever had. Be sure to have the chocolate donuts for dessert , be sure to ask for a spoon. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We definitely will go again!
Food and service was amazing! Crab dip, flounder, shrimp and pumpkin crème brule were the best dishes. Also loved the drinks. Can't wait to go back.
Recently we had dinner to celebrate two birthdays. We had flounder and shrimp. Both were excellent and sides, sweet potatoes and risotto were very good. Our server, Julie, was attentive, answered all our questions and set the tone for an enjoyable meal. I would highly recommend the Blue Jay Bistro.

Blue Jay Bistro was absolutely AMAZING from beginning to end. My girls and I went here to celebrate my birthday and everyone was incredibly nice and attentive. From the hostess to our waitress Frances to our other waitress Katie. The manager Evan even came over and checked on us several times and he was also equally as nice and personable. And to put the icing on the cake the food was AMAZING! And they even gave me birthday card that all of the staff personally signed. TOP TIER service all around and food. This is so hard to come by these days anymore. We will most CERTAINLY be back!!!
What a wonderful dinner to celebrate a Birthday! Service Outstanding! Frances is so good-Blue Jay so lucky to have her! What an addition to the staff! THANKS
Incredible space and ambiance! The crab dip as a starter was excellent, great cocktails and wine selection. The burgers were not cooked correctly (for any of us), my friend didn't want her mushrooms so I asked for them to be put on the side for me, and they never showed up, even after repeated requests. Our server stated that she would take them off the bill since I wasn't getting the extra, but reminded her that they we already paid for with my friends burger who didn't want them. There seemed to be a few disconnects like this which made the dining experience awkward and disjointed. Desserts were underwhelming - tres leches chocolate cake was dry and not very flavorful, and donut holes a bit better. Always look forward to dining at this restaurant, but this time it was disappointing and no real effort to correct things.
We enjoyed the oyster appetizer. The other couple we were with ordered them for their meal. I had the scallops and my husband had a filet. Both delicious. We all shared the doughnut holes dessert that came with chocolate whipped cream. So yummy! Service was excellent as well. They also pour great cocktails!
We sat in the bar at a lovely table by the patio , Katie was a great server and the food , as always, was amazing . The crab cakes, sitting on an avacado dip, was covered with a red cabbage slaw . I could eat that every day . The flavors were inspired. We finished dinner with coffee and house made donuts . Can hardly wait to go back !
Blue Jay Bistro is always superb. The food, the staff, and the atmosphere are second to none. The rotating seasonal menu will certainly have an app, entree, and dessert to appease everyone's palate. I personally enjoy sitting at the bar, but there is not a bad seat in the restaurant. Highly recommend!

Hadn't been to the Blue Jay in a while due to out-of- town obligations. The menu had been revamped and everything we had was delicious, well presented, and the entrees were piping hot. We were waited on my a very knowledge, pleasant young man who was a pleasure to speak with. It was a great experience!
Exceptional food, service, and experience as a whole. Staff is professional, attentive, and well managed. Menu provides great variety and everything we ordered was phenomenal!
Worth the trip regardless of where you're coming from. Great food and even better service.
The staff was great, the food was really good, and even other guests were a lot of fun! It was another delicious night at Blue Jay!
The atmosphere is very nice and relaxed. The seating allows for your table conversation to be yours not shared with the tables around you.. The food is just so-so. Nothing I had would make me want to return for the food or drinks. Its average, at best. But it's something for this area. Is a start. Ronoake Rapids got nothing. Henderson either. Richmond and Raleigh to far to drive. Like I said it's something. In a real city with competition, they'd be closed. Wouldn't last six months. My group still enjoyed themselves. The prices too high for the taste quality.
