Top of the line food and service. We dine there often! By far the best on Lake Gaston.

Great food, good service. I like the different varieties of food. Not always the same things on the menu. Meatloaf was outstanding!

This was our first time at Gus’s Diner and it did not disappoint! The food was incredible. We enjoyed the Shrimp Etufé the Bayou Pasta, and the Pork Slovakia! The portions were large and all were incredibly delicious! We will definitely go again. Can’t wait to try their breakfast!!

Oh my!! We just had the Valentines special at Gus's and let me tell you it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! The giant tomahawk steak was insanely tasty... so juicy and flavorful! The salads were fresh and crisp and our loaded baked potatoes were giant and creamy! Just when i thought it couldnt get better, we got to enjoy the chocolate cake for desert?. Not only was all of our food amazing, our waitress was phenomenal as well! We cant wait to come back !! 20 stars Mr Gus!! I wish i wouldve taken some photos but when it came out and i could smell all the deliciousness i just couldnt wait to eat it!!

Love this place. We had burgers & roast beef sandwiches. Big portions with great crispy fries & onion rings. Au jus & horseradish sauce was the best. Good lunch!!

We've been a total of 4 times and I have to say each time has been great! The staff if very nice and helpful! Wait times can be a tad long but, this day and time I have come to simply appreciate folks who actually show up for work because everywhere is understaffed! I choose to find the good in the occasionally longer wait times and say I'm happy to have spoken with people I otherwise would have ever had the chance.

Very busy day, staff did the best they could, we were in no hurry, it was lunchtime. The selection of meals is very good, many to choose from. Comfort foods and healthy options! Food was excellent. It was our first time there, same as others we spoke with. We are going back for dinner!!!

Excellent service. Excellent food. Fair prices! Ambiance could be improved, however they are still in their infancy as a restaurant.

We had Gus's Diner breakfast for the first time today and it was great. We wanted a change from the usual breakfast spots in Roanoke Rapids and I'm glad we stopped in! The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the staff were all so friendly. We brought my 5 year old and she was greeted at the door with all smiles and offered coloring books and crayons. I'm thankful that we have a family friendly spot in the area! Also- this is a newer restaurant in an area that is mostly seasonal so please give some grace. The 1 and 2 star reviews should not steer you away at all! Some folks cannot be pleasrf

Our Fishing club meets there for breakfast once a month.Food was good.Took one hour to get our food, there was 12 of us, and one other customer in there.I think if they want to be know as a Guy's Diner they need to serve faster.

Service has gotten better with each visit. Sarah is a great addition to your staff as we always wanted her while she was at the Kennon House. We are going for breakfast today as we have been there only for dinner.

Inside the restaurant is pretty small, not a lot of tables, but the wait staff was super friendly and attentive. For an appetizer, we had the Mediterranean melody, which was just okay. For entrees we had the Athena chicken pasta, bayou pasta, and the fried soft shell crab salad that was on special. The pastas are a good size portion, but are a little expensive for what they are and it's an extra $4.50 for them to be served with salad and bread, it doesn't come with it. The Athena chicken pasta was a little boring and dry, not enough olive oil or garlic. The bayou pasta was delicious, the sauce on it was so good. The soft shell crab salad was good. Overall the food was good, but a little expensive.
