The Huntsman burger I had today WAS NOT the Huntsman burger I had a while back, which at that time was AMAZING. Today, I didn't look at the menu because I knew I wanted the Huntsman burger that I have been craving. Unfortunately, it was not the same. I recall the last burger having some kind of berry jam, not a berry mustard. Today, the burger had no flavor whatsoever and I ordered medium rare and it was rare, to the point where it made the bun so soggy it fell apart. Someone else posted that he thought the burger started off frozen and I may have to agree because it had no flavor and the shape was "too perfect" , not like a hand made pattie. I do have a POSITIVE, the onion rings were soooo good! I really want Buzzed Viking to succeed but since it's been open, it's been so inconsistent.

Liked Lyle the Viking meade, the pretzel, and the garlic parm wings. Will go back for sure! Would Ike to see more choices of meades please!

Wonderful burger and a nice variety of beers! Perfect for a quick lunch while driving through.

I want to like this place, I really do. But the quality here is just so low. I've given this place a few chances but after ordering a burger today for takeout and asking for it to be cooked medium only to receive a mostly raw patty...I'm done. The "seasoned fries" have no seasoning on them either, not even salt as far as I can tell. And the burger patty seemed to have been the frozen kind.
If you want a great burger, go to Penny's in Oakboro. If you want good cocktails, visit Loping crow distillery. Better quality and prices at both places.
I'm giving 2 stars only because I've gotten decently friendly staff here.

Always a fun time, cool atmosphere, live music is great

First time trying Buzzed Viking last night. The food was absolutely delicious (and came out quick), the beer I had was good, and the staff was friendly & accommodating. The atmosphere was fun, with Viking-themed accents, live music, and games for kids & adults alike. They have specials throughout the week & a decent amount of food options (more than I thought they would). Whatever issues they had when they first opened seem to be resolved now, because I can’t think of anything negative to say about our experience. We will definitely be back! (And I will update my review if there’s anything on our future visits that is less than great)

I had an amazing experience with my children there yesterday for lunch time. The food was great and portioned generously. Service was excellent and the kids got to enjoy the game area.

Here for the grand opening, and I understand it's the first night, but the food is well below what I expected. The Huntsman Burger is essentially a big soybean patty. Dry and flavorless. The Beef on Weck was minute steak on a sesame hamburger bun. Truffle fries were waffle fries with some mayonnaise drizzled on them. We'll give it another try on a normal night, but the bar was set really low.

Update on 7/12/24. Still horrible food. Chicken cheesesteak sub had nearly nothing on it. Cod sandwich was McDonald's quality. Truffle fries still have some kind of mayonnaise on them. Fries were old and cold. Thought we'd give it a 3rd try, but not again. Shame neither brewery in this town can put together a solid meal.

Buzzed Viking Brewing Locust update

Absolutely terrible tonight. This was strike 3.

I ordered the $19 burger and Brussels. The burger was Grey and slimey (reminded me of a burger from school in 1994) and the Brussels were greasy and unseasoned.

My wife ordered the tot bowl and I can guarantee the chili on top was canned hormel.

No servers and you have to order and pay at the bar.

No one checked on us. We have been 2 previous times and this was the worst of 3 bad experiences. It's no wonder why they have changed management and menus so many times since opening. We will NOT give this another chance. Highly disappointed.

I just went there for my second time and I couldn't have been happier with my experience. The live music (Liam Pendergrass) was great, very bluesy, the Huntsman Burger is phenomenal, their meads change periodically allowing for you to try a new one each time you go, they have a couple of pool tables, a patio... the staff is great, always working hard with a smile on their face... and come on.. who doesn't like a Viking themed bar/restaurant.. right!?!? Needless to say, I'm totally a fan and most definitely recommend giving them a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Been here three times so far. Good atmosphere and beer selection but I've always had to order at the bar. If you sit at the barn you get ok service but if you're at a table you have to go to to bar even for refills or you have to hail someone as they bring food out to another table. Food was very salty (coming from a salt lover). Still open to trying them again but feeling sad service isn't better since it's a nice and clean venue.

The food was absolutely excellent. The drinks I had were good. When on my birthday mainly went for getting some of the meat that they have. Unfortunately they were out but the owner took my information and everything so that way he can make sure that he could let me know when the next batch was supposed to be in. Did everything he could .Absolutely wonderful bartender. Made sure everything was good. Double-checked with us on everything.

This place was so accommodating! We drove over an hour to get mead here for my friends birthday. They didn't have any mead but the sweet girl bartending& serving called other places to see if they had any. Also the owner reached out to us to get his info for the next batch of mead. They ALSO after all of this kindness comped our entire food bill unprompted. The service is amazing and the staff/owner did everything they could to make up for the lack of mead (not really their fault)

The good was good, but the negatives were there too.
The good.
A wide choice of cocktails at a good price. The viking sampler was great.
The dry rub wings were fantastic.

The negatives
The Reuben was the most grizzly meat I've ever had. You couldn't bite it, and even couldn't really cut it. The table next to us also left the Reuben meat uneaten.

I got a coffee porter. So sweet I thought it must be the vanilla poured by accident, but they insisted it wasn't.
