“Had the most perfect lunch date with my wife and our two dogs. Service was beyond amazing, very clean everywhere including restrooms. The only thing both of us thought was we had a little too much garlic on our food. But oh my goodness the experience was incredible.”

I spoke with the owner as I was checking out. Super nice guy. Former Yankee. Now a Damn Yankee because he moved to Charlotte and won't leave. LOLFor the rest of my time that I am wintering in Metro Charlotte, I plan on eating here often.”

“First things first this place was sparkling clean. The food was amazingly good. We both opted for the Turkey wings with cabbage , Mac and cheese, and black eyed peas. Very flavorful. Loved the mac and cheese it had a faint sweetness to it but blended surprisingly well with sharp cheddar cheese blend. By far the best soul food in Stanley Country. If you love good food, drive on out it is worth every minute.. Lots of options. They offer dine in also. Let's support there business..Good food is hard to find out here. Now we don't have to drive to the city real soul food.?????Parking: Tucked next to Phillips 66 gas station on 24 in Locust NC.”

“Wow! Took my bestie here for her birthday. First of all I love the sweet little town of Locust. Every experience I’ve had here leaves a happy feeling.It was a Saturday night during prom season and we didn’t have a reservation so no table was available. Several different staff apologized for this fact. We were seated at the long table in the middle of the room since we didn’t have reservations. It was fine.The waiters were the bar keepers Rhett and Tyler. Could not have been more kind helpful, prompt and courteous. All good.The atmosphere in crowded places often bothers my hearing but here I had no issue. It’s lighting and decor give it a nice feeling. Love the mural in honor of the beloved Locust.We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was so very delicious. Perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. I had the chicken melt, black eyed peas and loaded fries. I ordered the chicken because the menu said it had 3 kinds of cheese and I’m a cheese fanatic, imagining it would be loaded with cheese. It wasn’t, but still was good. The black eyed peas were the best I’ve ever had. We even asked Rhett how they make them. Super delicious. The loaded fries hit me in the happy with their generous cheese. My obsession satisfied.My friend ordered the ribs and rosemary potatoes. She loved the food and raved about it and swore she will be back here.We intended to order dessert but the portions were so generous that we didn’t have room.This place is a gem and I’m hoping they do amazing business. I’m thrilled to have a new excuse to go to Locust.”

“Sassy cakes is amazing!! I placed a custom order and the event host got sick and they froze and held the cookies until I had the new event date! Then when it got pushed back a second time they were still willing to help me out with fresh cookies!! Can't recommend them enough!”

“Our family loves the Sunrise Grill. The food and service are always consistently delicious. Today I tried the Sunrise omelette, sausage, bacon, ham, onion, cheese, and tomato. It was good, but I prefer their veggie omelette add sausage. Pumpkin waffles are seasonal and a must try. My 5 year old really enjoyed the pancake and entertaining the other diners around us. I love our little country community and this diner.”

“We’ve been ordering here like once a week since we moved to town. It’s incredible, the pizzas and subs are such good quality. Takeout is super easy, however the pizzas are HUGE so impossible to carry that and toddler in the other hand. Staff is SOOOO incredibly helpful and they still do the “curbside carry out” for me so I don’t have to get my toddler out of the car to come in and grab order. Even when they’re busy they made the time to bring my order out weekly! Best place in town, great reward points for frequent customers, and great customer service.”
