The time is incorrect, besides that I got there at 6:20 and it said closed and they wouldn't let me in even though it says it closes at 7 on a Monday. It also happens to me on Saturdays and Thursdays?

This restaurant has become a favorite of my friends and I for delicious Mexican food for very little. Everything here tastes great and is well worth your dollar. The only downside is that there is little table space, but we often get it to go anyways. Definitely worth stopping by.

I heard about this from very close Mexican immigrant friends. They RAVED about this place. For my American tastes, I found the home made shells and wraps a bit "thick and bready" but I'm told that is the difference between authentic and classic American. This place has a broad menu, and it only has outside dining....Its really a takeout place proudly run totally by women (this was explained to me happily as I was delighting in my first visit). I evaluate an ethnic restaurant partly based on the degree to which they can give me an authentic experience AND one that uniquely introduces me to new tastes. Also, I really enjoy where the staff (owners) take an interest in MY interest in them and engage with me. For these two crtieria, this place gets 5 stars.

Ate lunch here today and was very impressed with the food. I had the tacos and they were great! Only outdoor seating is available but the food is great and the staff is very friendly.

Everyone at my table had amazing food. The sage risotto, it was to die for! My husband had the lobster ravioli, so good. The service was so slow. We were there for literally 2 hours and our waitress was slow about everything. I would recommend the food to anyone just hope you go on a slow night.

An authentic Mexican restaurant! What a wonderful surprise to find real Mexican food in the Piedmont of North Carolina. There are so many restaurants in North Carolina claiming to be "Mexican," but they all fall short of the real taste of Mexico. The food at Antojitos Las Delicias is not Tex-Mex (like most of the cookie cutter places you will find in the United States), but what is found in California. As a matter of fact, the Mexican owners told us that they were striving to serve food that you would find on the West Coast. Antojitos Las Delicias is all by itself in an older part of Winston-Salem. It is less than five minutes from I-40 Business thus getting to it is not a problem. The Mexican restaurant is in what appears to be an old hamburger joint. The building is a 1950s style building that people drove up to to get their food. There is no indoor seating. The owners have some patio tables and chairs with umbrellas to shield you from the Southern sun. They say that most people order their to take home or back to their hotels. My wife and I opted for eating at one of the tables. Our dinner started with some beef nachos. This could have been a meal for two! The chips were crispy and loaded with genuine beef (none of that processed "meat"). The cheese was everywhere. There were enough toppings to have some of it with each chip. To our liking, the nachos were not soggy. How many times have you ordered nachos to find them droopy? My wife poured quite a bit of the red sauce on to the nachos, thinking that it would be mild like what you get almost everywhere else in the United States. We quickly found out that the red sauce is that genuine hot stuff that you have to call 9-1-1 to put the fire out in your mouth. Despite the intense heat, the red sauce was absolutely delicious. You can tell that the owners made it themselves. If you fear the heat, try the salsa verde. The "green sauce" does not pack the punch of its red sister. Per the owners' recommendation, we ordered two gorditas con barbacoa. Gordiatas are small cakes made with masa and stuffed with cheese, meat, or other fillings. They are similar to pita pockets, but much heartier! Wow! They were by far the best we have ever had! The female owner makes everything - and we mean, everything! - from scratch. Nothing is bought from a factory and assembled here. You will find the typical Mexican fare such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, but they also have empanadas, papusas, cubano sandwiches. Everything is Ala carte; there are no usual entrées, where you get rice and beans on the side. Don't expect to get your food in five minutes as each dish is prepared as you order it. Every dish comes out piping hot. The prices are ridiculously low thus one can get a lot of great Mexican food for a low price. We stuffed ourselves for a mere $15. When was the last time you had dinner for that low of a price? And for such great food?? We have to return to Winston-Salem in a couple of weeks, and Antojitos Las Delicias is already on our itinerary. The owners were told we would be returning, and they smiled and thanked us... a great indication of how wonderful their hospitality is. Make sure this out-of-the-way place is on your itinerary, too. You will be thrilled to experience a little bit of Mexico in Winston-Salem.
