This place was awesome! Asada tacos, rice, beans all were great! This is my go to place for tacos now. Service was awesome as well. The owner needs to get some nice oven mitts for the servers. They all had to carry steaming hot plates to tables, noticeably too hot for them to safely carry. Otherwise this place was absolutely great!

First time grabbing lunch here. I did take out. I ordered a chicken chimichanga, beans and rice. Best beans and rice I’ve tasted. Chimichanga was good as well, small sized. Came with chips and salsa. Waitress was nice and friendly.
Will return.

Driving home from Florida we stayed in Lumberton and looked for a Mexican Restaurant. There were a few close to our motel. We drove to one and walked inside and it just didn’t feel good. So we ended up at El Rio Grande. A friend met us there for dinner. It’s in a strip mall so it has lots of parking but no aesthetics. The food was good with a large selection to pick from. It seems to have a good local following. There was one group of about 20 people sitting at a long table.
The service was great. The server came over many times to check if we needed anything. While they had an alright selection of tequila they didn’t have any bubbly water (Topo Chico, Pelegrina) so we asked if we could bring some in to mix our own drinks. We ordered four shots of Casamigos Tequila and asked for 3 glasses with ice and some lime. We made ranch waters (muddled lime, tequila, Topo Chico) at our table.
It turned out to be a good meal.

Tried this place for the first time today. 9/27/24. Absolutely the best I've had in lumberton nc so far. Chips are crisp and packed with flavor. Cheese and salsa is bar none authentic or as close to I have tasted here. Service was phenomenal. Always honest and always on top of everything. And the atmosphere is how they describe it. Mexican food and bar. Hands down the best Mexican food and service in lumberton. And i payed 16 bucks for 3 items. Just great for the pocket and great for the food. 5 stars no less.

Our server, Robert, was top notch! We especially appreciated that he took time to put together a special spicy salsa for us. You just do not get service like this much anymore. All of the staff were on top of taking and filling orders, and took the time to answer questions about the menu. And the food....was authentic and delicious! Some of the best we have had and we have been to many Mexican restaurants. We split the "Little bit of everything" so we could try a variety of dishes. It was more then enough food for us and gave us a taste of many of the menu options. The guacamole was fresh and well seasoned. The relleno was the best we have had. The burrito and enchilada were perfect. One of the best Mexican restaurants we have been to!!!
