Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

Honestly, I have low expectations of most Golden Corrals. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service at this one.

The food was hit or miss. The price was very inexpensive, I think less than $15 per person. One major issue I had was that the plates were not being dried after being washed: I don’t want to put my food on a wet plate.

Overall, a pretty positive stop on a long road trip.

Golden Corral is my favorite "chain" buffet and I have eaten in many of them across the eastern US. My biggest gripe with this certain branch is that the food is bland, not very tasty when compared to other GC locations. This GC was located inside a gas station so there are many truck drivers eating here. I will probably avoid this location for future buffet meals.

The staff are not knowledgeable about what is in the food or how it's cooked. If you have food allergies be careful many items were marked improperly. Cherry tomatoes at the salad bar area tasted like they were soaked in raw oyster juice, disgusting. I called ahead to find out the price, was told $14.99 for adult dinner buffet, to be told when I got there $16.49 per adult. Clearly the training needs to be addressed.

They allowed an emotional support dog to be taken to the buffet siting ADA rules which after some investigation i found out that the ADA does not cover emotional support animals so they should have been asked to put the in the car or leave. I brought this to the attention of the manager who did nothing so I asked for my money to be returned. The manager complied with my request and we left. I do not allow animals in my kitchen when I'm cooking and I will not eat after animals at a restaurant. I actually saw the lady pick the dog up out of the baby carriage she had it in and then got to the buffet with the dog and never washed her hands. This is unacceptable! Golden Corral use to be my happy place. I guess I have to find some place else to be happy at. Oh and they didn't refund my entire amount. The bill was 54.51 and only refunded 44.91. I feel cheated and highly disrespected by the Golden Corral in Lumberton NC! Shame on you! Oh and I will be posting a more detailed account of this experience for my many followers on Tik Tok and Instagram as I left out a lot including to dude that followed me to the manager from the "dog table" and the non caring attitude of the manager!

Quality is hit and miss, even on the same item across multiple visits. Some common items may not be on the bar at times, no shredded cheddar for 2 weeks now.

The steak cook is extremely rude and won’t look at you much less speak to you. The first piece of steak I was given mind you without asking how I wanted it, was dry and overcooked. The second steak she gave me was blue rare. I know service is dead but i didn’t think it was this bad. Spend you hard earned money somewhere else. For how much I spent I hoped the service would’ve been better and the food worth it.

What a bad choice choosing here for Thanksgiving. Do not expect turkey. Guess poor planning and so many orders Togo probably got all the turkey
