The reviews made us want to go 10 minutes off the highway for a yummy lunch while traveling. The prices were very high for the small portions. The chicken quesadillas were just OK and truly looked like they came off the kids menu. The worst part was my sister’s burger tasted like the meat was getting ready to spoil. The server said “Im sorry” when I asked her to tell the cook to try it before he served it again”. Extremely disappointed, obviously!

I really wanted to like this cute restaurant. It is located inside an old house on Elm St., in downtown Lumberton, NC. The place is ready for Instagram pictures with your favorite girlfriends. However, the food is subpar. I wanted a light lunch, so I ordered a grill cheese sandwich. After all, if you can't successfully make an American grilled cheese sandwich, you can hang your apron and quit your job as a cook.
As you can see from the pictures, what I received was a plain Jane grilled sandwich, with a handful of out-of-a-bag potato chips. The sandwich had no flavor, not even the cheese singles! If you take that little care a simple grilled cheese sandwich, what else are you cutting corners on? And why did I have to wait 20 minutes for such a simple item when I was the only person in the restaurant?
You look at the picture and tell me if that was worth $9.
I hope the owner takes better care of the menu instead of concentrating on the décor.
