The food was pretty good. The atmosphere wasn’t great! The wait staff wasn’t attentive. I ran out of drink, never came back to ask how the food was, when they did return to our table they took away our food before we were finished. It’s like they were rushing us to leave. I will never return to Frankie’s!!

I had the Sunday pasta. It was not flavorful at all very bland. My wife had chicken Parmesan and it tasted like her feet smell.

Bland. Asheville region is very short on restaurants who make their own pasta in-house. It’s not difficult and really sets the real deal from dried pasta boils which suck. Learn it and profit.

We stopped in last night with hopes of a good dinner post after school ski club at Cataloochee. We waited 10 min to be seated which was fine bc we didn’t have reservations for a table of 6. Our waiter was horrible, confused in the drink order, failed to bring enough water for our table, forgot to put in the two adult orders, and then was completely absent- I had to flag down another waiter to get to go boxes, when we finally got our check I had to go in search of our waiter (who was having social time with staff members in another room). Aside from horrible service ( it was my first time, but the other half of our table noted service was particularly bad- they were frequent dinners here) the pasta was horrible. As my son said, it was so soft it “ate itself.” Salads were overly drenched with dressing, etc. The meal itself might have been excusable as an “off night” but for the terrible service. I literally felt as though I was being held hostage and if I was unethical would have left without paying. But instead I paid and was told by another server that I shouldn’t fuss at our waiter because he is a “human being.” Well so are we, and we paid for a meal and basic common service- both were sub par/mediocre.

My bf and I went there after skiing last Friday. The hostess and servers were so nice and friendly. He had the spicy shrimp and I had the Eggplant Marinara. Both were amazing and we had the Bruschetta as an appetizer which was huge!

Ate at this restaurant during the Ice Festival weekend. It was busy to be expected. First off, I feel sad for the residents in this area. This is possibly the worst Italian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I can get much better food from Olive Garden and they microwave most of their food. The Mozzarella Frita was disgusting. It tasted like the fryer oil hadn’t been changed out. The Parmesan fries were alright. Thank goodness the Classic Stromboli was a 5/10 because that really bumped up the food score. My mom and wife ordered chicken Marsala and Chicken Parm and the chicken was good. The pasta was terrible; it had way too much water sitting in the dish. The servers were friendly enough but they were way too infrequent with checking in. I understand that they were busy due to the festival . We told the server that we were ready to go and then she asked if we were up for dessert; we asked her for the check and she returned shortly with the tab. We placed our card and it was 10 minutes of waiting before my wife took the tab up to a different server and asked if she could run it so we could leave (we have a 3 year old that was getting fussy at this time). It took about another 5 minutes to run the card and make it back to the table. This place was recommended by several locals we talked to during the festivities and they all loved it. If this is the standard for Italian food in this region then I am truly sorry. Also: they ran out of children’s crayons for the coloring page they give to kids a few days before the ice festival. Seems like terrible planning considering that there is a ton of kids in town at the moment.Edit: totally forgot that the server forgot my sweet tea but it was a good thing because my mom ordered it and it wasn’t good. I was happy with the water. The pink lemonade that my wife ordered was ok.

3 people in my party had significant intestinal upset after eating there for dinner. It was the only food that we had been in the same place for that day. Drinks were not brought until after the dinner was brought out and no one received a refill. Multiple items from the menu were out after we ordered them.

Even on a night that was packed and only two servers had the whole back of the restaurant, service was great. Despite having multiple parties ranging from 5 to 9 the servers had smiles on their face and got our food and drinks to us. Super friendly service and the food was so good! They even give a celebration cannoli which is so tasty! Definitely come check out this hot spot in Maggie! You won’t be disappointed.

We arrived at the restaurant and were told that it was would be about a 45-50 minute wait as they were down a server. We were invited to sit at the bar while we waited. The bartender service was top notch. We were welcomed to go ahead and place our food order by the bartender who was attentive and efficient. We were soon devouring amazing dishes. I had the penne and broccoli with grilled chicken. It was really good! My girlfriends had the lasagna and a pizza. They agreed that the food was delicious. The portion sizes were perfect. The atmosphere was pleasant with a piano player in the background. The ambiance supported a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience! We can’t wait to go back and try different dishes! Especially the desserts!
