Beautiful little shop next to Foodarama. I go in for the gluten free tamales and empanadas (not gluten free) all the time. The hot sauce is just perfect. The deserts are amazing too!
Treat yourself, treat a friend, or just go to Pionono Bakery to treat your taste buds! The empanadas were sold out so we waited for the fresh batch and it was definitely the best decision! They offer two kinds: beef or chicken. Enjoy it with the sauce if you want heat and another layer of flavor. The filling and crust are perfectly paired and just delicious!! The sweets we tried are equally delicious -- flan, chocolate cake, and alfajores! Service was extremely helpful and friendly!...
Chicken empanadas are absolutely divine! My go-to lunch stop. The shop has a good selection of hard-to-find-elsewhere Peruvian and Mexican goods (I’ve heard great things about Inca Kola) and the desserts are stellar. Don’t forget to ask for the spicy sauce to go with your empanadas—even a small amount adds great depth of flavor.
