My husband my baby and I decided to go and eat here to support local small businesses. When we arrived we were seated after that were never asked for our drink or served waited about 10 minutes and started seeing 2/3 more tables walk in and get drinks and get served and we still didn’t have drinks and nobody bothered to come help us 2/3 servers were serving one table while we couldn’t even get our drink order taken. clearly saw the workers making eye contact with us yet not bothering to serve us so we decided to get up and leave the employees saw us get up and leave and didn’t say anything you would think they would at least be worried about the bill getting paid, but I assume that they knew they didn’t serve our table so we had nothing to pay for and they didn’t say nothing to us. Don’t know if this treatment was because we were the only Hispanics there or what the problem was but was not a good feeling or good first time at the restaurant
We stumbled upon this place on our way out of town and it was so good. The food is unique and so delicious! We had the chicken salad melt with cucumber salad as a side, and then the Philly cheesesteak (add pimento cheese) and the pasta salad. It’s hard to pick a favorite because it was all SO good but we highly recommend adding the pimento cheese to something and getting the pasta salad for a side!
Always have delicious food. The staff have great service and personality. Healthy options are available. Recommend the specials and banana cake
I always sit at the counter and the folks cooking the food are fantastic. All around service with excellent food.
Delicious food, Excellent service, and friendly atmosphere. I felt like Mama was cooking dinner.
I hadn’t been to Bruce’s in several years. I had heard that Bruce had passed away, and I wondered if the restaurant was still the excellent place that I remembered. It is! I had a mushroom Swiss burger with cream of cabbage soup on the side. Outstanding! Also, one of the neat things that I always appreciated about eating at Bruce’s was how he would always come out and socialize with customers. Of course, he can no longer do that. But one of his cooks, Chad, has stepped into that role, it seems. He came out to see if everything was okay and we talked about desserts (one is included with the meal). He gave me some good advice and allowed me to sample a couple of different pieces of cake. I ended up with an upgraded dessert (blueberry walnut cheese cake) and a piece of Hawaiian fruit cake to take home for Susanne. Chad has learned the lesson that Bruce intuitively understood. People like to do business with people. Chad made the lunch more than just a transactional experience where he gave me food and I gave him money. Instead, it was someone sharing what they loved to do (cook food) with someone who appreciated it and wanted as more than happy to pay for it. Not coincidentally, I also ended up spending more money than planned because I appreciated the experience. There’s a lesson to be learned here. Thanks to Bruce’s Fabulous Foods, and to Chad, for a great lunch.
Dark Atmosphere, poor quality of food not more I have to say. Sorry I wasted my money there .

The food portions are barely enough. The service is amazing though.

The owner was very lively and food was good. We like to joke around so Barbara was good sport.

So lucky to have found this place after a hike up Catawba Falls. We walked in and were greeted like long lost family. Bruce hipped us to some of his favorite items on the menu, and steered me and my partner to the vegetarian dishes. The food was incredible--everything was handmade, fresh, simultaneously comforting and fun. Cheesecake and coffee for dessert was perfect. On our way out we got a hug from Barbara--we were legitimately sad to leave. Seriously special people and a seriously special place.
