Wow! Such a gem! Ordered a liver mush and egg sandwich, and it's huge! Perfect to split for breakfast and lunch! The meat was cooked perfect, eggs fluffy, toast toasty! The home fries are crispy and flavorful .. And sausage croissant is mouthwatering! Don't skip on this spot!

First time visit here and it won't be my last. My husband and I enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Especially noteworthy: the grits and the pancakes. Superb! They also serve lunch, which we haven't tried yet, but if it's as good as their breakfasts, it'll be great!

Stopped in, cause we were on our way to Bakersville and everything is closed in Spruce Pine due to the hurricane and sewage not being available. So on our way we stopped to grab a bite. This restaurant was great. I had the BLT and it was on point. The fries were great. We found out that they just reopened a few weeks before our visit and you would never know a storm came through. They must have worked so hard on the businesses and this cafe to get it open. It is very impressive considering what each of the employees endured in their own homes and then now at work. These are hard working people who strive to survive! Please visit this business and show them some love and stop at any of the other ones you can when driving through or staying. Thank you Elevate for being open for us as we tick tacked our way to Bakersville to work on our own clean up! We will be back!!!!!!!

The exterior signage makes you think it’s an up and coming breakfast spot but the menu is very limited, ordered a burger cause it was too late for breakfast, very plain and the home fries were soggy floppy cold chips. Coffee is plain with creamer cups, no fresh creamer or half n half. Guess u get what the area can give. Won’t be returning…. Very disappointed … no wifi, only community unsecured spectrum for 30 minute slots…

I was passing through Marion, walking down the street and started talking with employee on break. Based on encounter, I decided to order coffee. Than, I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. One of the BEST burgers I've had in 17 states and fries were just as good. "Big Mama" serves the best, treats people like family, and has wonderful employees. I'd be broke if I lived here cuz I'd frequently dine here. Thanks!

Waitress was over it before we entered. Basically threw straws and food at us. Ordered chicken and waffle, subbed pancake which was decent but bacon was cold, got two frozen chicken tenders. Had to get my own butter before pancakes got cold because the horrible woman that waited on us forgot the butter as soon as I asked. You’d do better finding another place. Horrible experience.

Are the Area 51 with over easy eggs, grits and toast. It was so good! The staff is what makes this place what it is. They walked around and it seemed like they knew everyone that was there. Our family were so glad that we stopped to eat breakfast there.
Small local eatery with good food and decent prices. Our server was kind and attentive. She introduced us to liver mush (a local favorite) and gave us a sample to share. Actually quite tasty and made right here in Marion! A nice way to start our short getaway in Marion and Lake James.
Parking: 2 hour street parking. We were here on a Tuesday in August.

My first visit to this restaurant. Staff greeted me as I entered. After reviewing the menu, I asked if I could just order pancakes, and my waitress graciously answered, "Short or tall stack?" The pancakes were delivered moments later and were deliciously sweet, light and fluffy. Pleasant atmosphere and the bathroom was clean and tidy. I will be back.
