Loved the food. I had to let the staff know that I chose to sit outside, because after being told to find my own table and picking outside upstairs, no one knew I was out there. Once they did know, everything was taken care of in a timely manner, but I never could get a refill on my drink, because you get the absolute bare minimum of service if you choose to sit in the outside area. The food is delicious though, I just wish the portions were larger.

We were excited to try this cafe, but honestly it was just okay and definitely not worth what it cost. We both ordered sandwiches. I ordered sweet potato waffle fries with mine. My husband ordered regular waffle fries. When they brought our food, my sweet potato fries were on the plate with his sandwich (panini) and potato chips were on my plate. Before we pointed out the error, the waitress came and got my plate saying that they gave me the wrong sandwich. I thought maybe that meant they brought me the wrong plate altogether. But when they brought it back, the sandwich looked the same and the potato chips were still on it. After we pointed out the errors, they brought a bowl of the missing waffle fries. There was only one other couple in the restaurant (late lunch) so being busy was not the reason. I got the special, a turkey sandwich with some bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Although it had a lot of turkey on it, the taste was nothing special and pretty disappointing. My husband got a turkey panini. I tasted it. It was slightly better than my sandwich, mostly because the panini bread was toasted, but nothing to write home about. I ordered water, my husband ordered a beer. After a 20% tip, our total was over $53 00. The prices were not on the menu, and the waitress just told us the total (before top) and handed the electronic checkout gadget to my husband. Later that day, we received an e-receipt and saw that I was charged for a soft drink. I wouldn't eat there again. It was not worth what it cost.

It was our lunch stop after riding all day. Very nice place. It looks old too. Small menu and good prices. I tried the smoked trout sandwich and an eclair. WOW to both! Fresh made chocolate eclair. Good smoke on the trout. Definitely make it a stop on your bike ride or in little Switzerland area. They have a small gift shop too
2026 update after being there again in 2025! do the new owners intend to rehire the old baker(s). best eclairs I ever had and other sweets! i heard, like me, other people still asking this question years later. it should be a sign for the owners!

All around good experience. I had a loaded hot dog and my son had a sandwich. Both were great. Service was good. Desert case looked amazing. Nice little cafe off the beaten trail.
