Friendly staff companied a terrific bar style atmosphere. No alcohol is served here. This is a great spot for family and friends. Our dog was loved and given great care, highly recommend. Would revisit this restaurant one hundred percent.

I’ve really tried to support this place, but every single time I attempt to place a takeout order, they’re out of something. Today was the final straw. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a rundown of everything they didn’t have. No fries, no buns, and most of the sides were unavailable. I settled for a salad with ranch, only to be told they didn’t even have ranch, and only gave me two dressing options. For one of the few restaurants in Mars Hill, you’d expect better service and more reliable food options. I wish I could leave a better review but unfortunately repetitive bad service has prompted only two stars.
Stopped at Stackhouse today. BIG MISTAKE. I can't tell you one thing that was good about our visit. Poor service, horrible food, long wait for a burnt to a crisp smash burger with a burnt bun. Waitress never once asked if our food was ok even after placing the burnt bun on a napkin for her to see. Mars Hill deserves better than this. I don't see one review that has a response from management. Does the owner not care that this establishment is treating their customers with this type of service and quality of food. With a rating of 89 I'm surprised the health department has not shut you down. WAKE UP! This is totally unacceptable.

Have tried to support this place numerous times as it’s one of the only restaurants in town, however if you close at 9, and keep sending the phone calls to voicemail at 8, maybe you should change the hours to closing at 8. Previously we would get sent to voicemail saying they were too busy in the restaurant but upon driving by the place would be empty. Edit to add: after reading other reviews I think it’s a blessing in disguise that they have never answered while trying to place a to go order since they have an 89 health score😖
Do better. Your community deserves better. We try and try to support you but will absolutely no longer. The quality of your food has tanked. Step up or step aside and allow a business with pride take your place. Stackhouse used to be great, really. Apologies for the bad review but this meal is disappointing and frankly, disgusting.

There was only 1 waitress here and it took a while to get seated. She was not friendly. When we ordered she told us they were out of the majority of the sides! We wanted mac and cheese and baked beans but they didn’t have them. Have you ever heard of a bbq restaurant without baked beans?!?! One of us wanted wings but she said they won’t be done for an hour! The special of the day is all you can eat wings so they should probably change that special! Our food took AGES to come. The brisket plate had 1 singular piece of brisket with a few fries and not a lot of coleslaw. The brisket sliders came with a good amount of food. The full sized salad was veryyyy small and had barely any chicken. The salad said it would have avocado but it didn’t!! The waitress then said they were out of it! The 213 sandwich (brisket sandwich) had a good amount of food and was good. The pulled pork plate and sandwhich we ordered came to the table a long time after everything else. The pulled pork was not pulled and was dry, very oily and just overall not good. The pulled pork sandwich had barely any meat. The side salad was pretty good and the dressing was definitely homemade. Fries were pretty good but cold. The bathroom had holes in the wall and was pretty gross. Oh my gosh and i almost forgot! My grandfathers fries had a HAIR ON THEM. He just didn’t eat them.
If i could give negative stars i would. Very very disappointing lunch and had terrible service. Do better!

Neat, historic place in a tiny college town. Delicious food, cool atmosphere and friendly service.
The fried mushrooms were fresh, perfectly battered and delicious. All they needed was a little salt. Full order is enough to share with seven people.
Hubby and I shared the Murray Branch chicken sandwich. Amazing! The pimento cheese was a wonderfully different twist.
Next time we’re riding around on motorcycles I really hope we swing by here again.

My sliders were absolutely amazing. The house made Palmetto Cheese is the best I ever had. Made in house everyday including all the BBQ. Definitely a must try for sure!

Stopped in while traveling with kids and the food was fantastic. Everyone found something to enjoy and we all left full. Waitress told us everything was made scratch and it tasted it as well. Decent prices as well.

My Husband and I have been going here for years but this will be our last visit. I asked do you have Gluten Free buns and she said yes without checking. In the past they always had to ask. When i order i specifically said smash burger on a gluten free bun. I said it twice. When the meal came my burger of course was on a regular bun. I hace Cecilac disease and Gluten makes me very sick. If I had not eating there before and knew what there buns look like this could have gone very bad for me. Too many kids working there with no care for others.

We got there and it was busy, only 1 waitress, everyone was clearing out and after 20 minutes waiting on a drink refill and waitress tending to 3 children and taking them behind the bar while getting ice for drinks, we had to go ask for togo containers and had to find them to return the check. I understand it was busy, but the waitress was inattentive. Food was ok but nothing special
